How Often Is NICS Down ?

Have bought three pistols in the last three months (and one rifle). I have a CHL but it's not grandfathered so I always get NICS'd. Have had to wait every time. Longest: 3-days. Shortest: 1/2 hour. They need to rename the system to "National Whenever We Feel Like It Check System"
 
haven't bought one lately, since january, but of the 25 or so i've bought since the 'instant check' came along, i guess i've been lucky, takes as long as the phone call,no wait here in God's country.....Texas
 
Here in Alabama our state laws prohibit the
transfer of handguns from dealer's to individual's; until after 48 hours have
passed. My dealer does not even use the
"insta-check" system for this reason. :D
