I use 3 different hand guns regular so I at least try to fire live rounds from each every week even if its just a few.

Cost restricts my shooting, but since i can shoot in my back yard i will at least shoot a few cylinders of .38s from my carry gun a couple times a week. When i have the extra cash i can spend a half a day shooting.

It's been so hot in Vegas this summer that the ranges can't keep it under 85*F inside. I hate getting sweat in my eyes ever other shot. And my classes fog up. Might go tomorrow, it's cooled off quite a bit this week, but it's been 3-4 month's.

I almost never practice anymore. I haven't fired a pistol in well over a year. It's rather depressing and I wish I had other significant hobbies :(.

i try to get out once a week at least but it seems the higher the ammo prices go up the less time i get. BUT i am a range master at my local gun shop so i get ammo at cost which is nice but it has gone up about 20% from last year at this time.

Athletic sweat band will keep the sweat out of your eyes and any good anti-fog cloth, liquid or spray will help keep your glasses clear.

Try shooting in a leather shooting jacket at 1000 yards in 110 degree heat. Sweat in the eyes was about the only thing I didn't have to worry about. A tiny jar of glycerin provided the clear lens and the ubiquitous red sweat band nearly all of us shooters wore kept our eyeballs clear. Some younger guys wore bandanas and one old duffer had a wet towel tied to his head. Looked goofy but I bet he was better off than the rest of us.

After that it was just a matter of staying hydrated and getting our jackets off as soon as the last shot was fired.

Don't practice on a schedule But I shoot on my own property and just walk down in the woods about two hundred Yards to do my shooting. I guess it would average about once a month. I usually take about three different weapons each time.

I shoot my carry gun 1-2 times a month but I wouldn't really call it practice. I'm not out there running tactical drills I shoot more for enjoyment than anything, but at the same time I do try to hone my skills. I do shoot alot of rimfire though, usually a brick a week.

I go to a local indoor range, on average, about twice a week - its close, and I'm a member so other than ammo, its free....

I can maintain a basic level of skill pretty well --- whether I shoot weekly or not ...and while I'm not that good with a handgun / I'm a lot better if I go at least once a week !

Hey-Y'all know what I like to find out ?
Who voted that.....
" they were that good they didn't need practice "
I just new one of y'all would do it when I did the thread-lol !

Last week, 110*F, today 77*F. Let's go shooting!!

Finally, I got to the range 4ish today.
The last 5 years I've been going there they were open 9am-9pm $8-15 all day. I brought my 81yo landlady to shoot her .357 snub, with a box of .38 wadcutters, and a lightened up trigger pull.

After reacclimatizing (spell check) her back to shooting after many years out of the saddle, she quit after her shooting finger was bruising, but not after we taped (Masking tap and tissue) up her bleeding thumb, she gave up after about 1.5 hours, and two cigarette breaks.

After BSing with other shooter's and exchanging guns like wife's, I finally started shooting some of my new guns, a new NAA 22lr mini revolver, and my new mint used Ruger Redhawk 44mag 5.5". Then when I was about to get my "drunk gun" out (research me on that one), a new 1911 RIA.

6:45pm, they said 10 minutes and we are closed.:eek:

Hell, it was going to take me 15 minutes just to clean up. They change to closing at 7pm. Never did shoot my new 1911, or did I practice my main carry gun.

Boy, was I torqued

Can't shoot for another month now, at least. Boo-hoo!

TBS, all those whimpy 22s.38s,9mm,40cal, 45acp's started hiding when I brought out the big .357mag, but my .357mag went into the fetal position when I brought out the Big 44mag with +Ps (Not to be shot in M29s).

I wonder what her manicurist is going to say tomorrow?

I shoot something almost every day. Usually a 22/45 Ruger since that's my "chore pistol" and is the one closest when a gun is needed. Fired my carry pistol last Sunday when I encountered a huge groundhog at the neighbor lady's house. And NO, I don't clean everytime I shoot. I think(?) I've cleaned the 22/45 this year but not sure about the KP95. For me, that's the big advantage of a stainless/polymer handgun. Just blow the lint out once in a while and maybe a drop of CLP and they're good to go.

Not as often as I should. Living near the city, the only nearby option is the range, which is dull to me. I prefer shooting on an open property, but the nearest one where I can generally "goof off" at will is a friend's place quite a long way from where I live. I eventually want to get some land for myself to building a country house and for shooting, etc, but have yet to find someone that has volunteered to pay for it. :(

I try to be at the range once a week, but sometimes it's every other week. In the winter it's less frequent simply because our indoor range has limited hours and doesn't always coincide with my schedule.

Basically, enough to stay sharp and hopefully improve the skills a bit as time goes by.

If I win the lottery, I'll build an indoor range for myself out behind the barn. ;)

I voted once a week but I shoot six times a month year round. I indoors and outdoors. I average 750 to 900 rounds a month including 22LR, 22Mag, 38Spl, 357Mag, 44Spl, 45 Colt, 45ACP, and now and then 44Mag.

Other:

I don't ever practice with my handgun because I don't have a handgun (bought one ftf, sold it ftf(at a loss):(, kicking myself:mad::mad:, waiting til I turn 21 now:o)
