How much time do you spend on TFL & are you addicted?

I find myself addicted to TFL and I think that I spend more time here than most with the exception of the moderators. That got me to thinking as to how much time other members spend here?

Speaking for myself, I usually log in first thing in the morning for about 30-45 minutes before starting work. Then about an hour during lunch and another half hour toward the end of the day. Then the little one wakes up around midnight, so I usually spend another hour logged in at around that time after we get her settled down again.

Adding all of this up, it comes out to about 3 hours a day  That's not counting an hour here or there when I'm on the phone in a boring meeting.

How about you?

Hmmm - I dont count.
I manage - so I dont do much else.

Kidding - Actually I keep about a dozen browser windows open all the time. Top Right most is the TFL window.
I cant help it... Macro scripts opens everything up for me when I boot up. TFL happens.

Sounds about right. I put in similar hours as you FUD. But sometimes i can spend a whole afternoon on a weekend if I'm not out shooting or the weather is bad.

Then there are the slow days when I should be doing something productive. The weeds are taking over, the paint is peeling and I need to remodel the bathroom. Oh well!

Amen,

I have been traveling to Wyoming alot recently to configure a few PLC networks up there and I feel the pangs of withdrawl while I am up there.

I am moving to Georgia next week from CO and while I should be tidying up loose ends, I am on this site more!

Waaaaaayyy too much time. I'm on today b/c we had no school--entire town was without power until about noon. Definitely addicted.

In fact, I just had to renegotiate this morning. I'm married now, ya know. So now, before I come upstairs to visit the computer, I've promised to check first and see if there are any chores to be done. I suppose that's fair.

Being retired, I have LOTS of time. The few charities/associations I belong to don't take up that much time. There is no range nearby, there's minimal politicking going on, and, I am not a golfer like all my neighbors.

I did this preamble so nobody will say Holy Smoke! This guy's a nut!

I'm on the computer 6-8 hours a day at various times - usually between 6 am and 6 pm. I subscribe to what seems like a gazillion online newspapers, US and International. By time I follow all kinds of interesting threads (they don't call it the Web for nothing), the day is half-gone. I'd say 90% of my news now comes from various Internet sources.

About 2 - 3 hours on TFL, checking before I post or just checking up.

Sidebar: My former ISP pulled a Clinton on me and redefined "unlimited access" to 168 hours a month. Since I was constantly exceeding that limit they wanted to charge me a different rate. Ah, sweet competition had just started up the week before. The new guy says "unlimited" means exactly what it says. Sayonara Sisna.

I'm on and off from 7 to 5. I read a lot of posts. Post every once in a while. I would say I have a problem.

Hi my name is Dan. I'm a TFL addict.

(ROOM): HI DAN !!!!

Well, I'm here a lot but not quite s much as FUD.

When working, check in before going to work, and then on the net for a bunch of time after work, here and other sites, check in here quite often during the evening. On days off, I'm in and out of TFL several times a day.

I don't care what anyone says (especially my wife), I am not addicted!
I can stop anytime I want to!!

Now that we've cleared that all up, I'll see y'all later. ;)

Another retiree. I drink my morning coffee, browsing various sites and then check in at TFL. South Jawgia's humidity really kills my enthusiasm for yard work--which I hate, anyway--and since I don't have any more work to do on my truck, here I am in the afternoon.

My wife likes to watch the Discovery Medical channel, where they cut folks open and do all manner of miraculous--and horribly ugly--things. Dunno why. Worries me, sometimes. So, I hide out at TFL! :)

But football season and hunting season are gettin' here, so it'll fall back to check-in and a bit of moderating...

AMEN!!!!

Actually, I am in front of my computer quite a bit at work. So I check in every so often but also frequent www.1911forum.com quite a bit because I moderate there.

FUD I am an addict! If I am able to use a puter and get on the Net, wether it be at work, home, friends, school, I am in here.

Well, let's see...I don't need to be in to work until 8AM, but I set my alarm for 5AM. It only takes me 15 mins. to get to work, and about 10-15 minutes to run pick up a paper before I go, so that gives me 2.5 hrs to play on the computer. I spend that 2.5 hrs. divided between TFL and two other firearms boards (one my own at the link below.) Some days when I get home, I'm too tired to do anything but eat and veg out in front of the TV. Other days, (most of the time) I'm back on the computer. Paint is peeling, boards are cracking, the yard looks like a jungle....

Is there a 12 step program for this? There is? OK, remind me to stay the hell away from it!

I dunno about you, but I love my addiction. I can sure as hell think of a whole lot of worse things to be addicted to....

You have to be there when it's all over. Otherwise you can't say "I told you so."

Better days to be,

FUD,

I hate it when you make me look into the dark recesses of my soul. Please don't make me admit what I am.

I can quit whenever I want. Really.
