I can't remember who said it but I always like this, and it does apply;
"one of my few fears is that when I die, my wife/kids will sell my guns for what I paid for them"!
How much money do I have in my collection? No money, only guns, ammo, optics, some leather & nylon, reloading equipment, components, etc....
And considering I have been collecting things like that for the last 4 decades, well...there's a few things there.
Now, how do you judge that money? By what I paid over the years? Or by what they would bring on the market, today? Replacement cost? (and some of them can not be replaced, like my grandfather's Flues model Ithaca double, or my fathers match grade Colt Government model? - sure, you could find comparable guns, with enough effort and cash, but you could never replace them, really).
lots of things to consider. I think I may have more than the $11K limit in reloading components.....especially at today's prices!
