How much does your range charge?

Blue Ridge Arsenal in N. VA, $20 per hour, per person and $10 each additional person. The range is pretty awful and not worth the cost.

yeah, blue ridge is mediocre at best

indoor NRA range in Fairfax is very nice and 50 yd...depending on NRA membership, anywhere from 12-14 per hour per person...it's always packed though so don't plan on shooting for more than an hour

Indoor range is $9/pistol and $14/rifle all day, but 25yds only.

Outdoor range is $180 for the year, up to 100yds pistol and rifle.

Have to drive 21 mi but no charge when I get there. There is a 'can' to make donation. Range is owned by the DNR and maintained by our conservation club work bees. I work sometimes so I dont feel a need to pay.

When there is a work bee I always stay and shoot since it is a pretty good drive-21 mi that I can drive in about 26 minutes.

Aboiut 10 benches and space for several pistol shooters. Three bunkers 25, 50 and 100 yards.

Island Lake range is $7.00 /day. Come and go all day.
Pistol/rifle range: 10 to 12 stations. Adjustable target stands anywhere between 15' to 25 yrds.
Rifle: 50 yrd. 10 to 12 statios
Rifle: 100 yrd. 10 to 12 stations.

They also have trap, skeet and 5 stand. I do not know the cost for those options.

wow' great timming on this question, my dues were due 1 mar. and i forgot till i saw this thread. mine are $27.00 a year, when i pay them!

$125/year. There is a charge for an electronic gate key and an initiation fee for new members. Other than that, no additional charges or daily shooting rates.

Added: I also visit a public range from time to time on week days as it tends to be pretty casual (but safe) there. Cost is Free, but you are supposed to pay the National Forest folks $7 or something like that to "park". I like it there actually but it is a pretty good drive for me.

I pay a $45 yearly fee at a sportsman's club.
The club has
rifle range -- 1 at 200 yds -- 1 shooting bench
rifle range -- 1 at 100 yds -- 3 shooting benches
rifle range -- 1 at 50 yds -- 1 shooting bench
Handgun range -- 2 at 10 yds -- 15 yds and 20 yds
Archery range with targets at 20-30-40.
A 30 target 3-D target range in the woods.
2- trap ranges
A shotgun range with a 4x4 foot pattern board.
The shotgun range also has 10 smaller pattern boards for the Turkey shoot every Sunday morning.
A very nice pond stocked with Blue Gills and Bass.
A slab of white oak 8 inches thick, 32 inches across set up for hawks and knives.

$175/ year. I can pay $5/day for the rifle-handgun range or $25 for the year. I pay the $25 and shoot roughly 3 days a month. This is for the family, so my wife and kids still living at home can go too. I also have access to 500 acres to bow hunt on, or another 2500 for rifle hunting. There is an additional charge to hunt the 2500 acres.

We also have a lake for fishing, a campground, sporting clays and all the other shotgun games.

Most of the guys who shoot there are shotgunners. I shoot a few rounds each year, but primarily shoot rifles and handguns and almost always have the range to myself except prior to deer season when everyone tries to zero their rifles. I avoid the place the last 2 weeks prior to deer season starting.

The range I frequent is run by the Indiana DNR and charges no fee. It's an outdoor range with 15, 30, 50, 100, and 200 yard rifle/handgun ranges as well as a separate trap/skeet range.

There's a few options for ranges within maybe 20 minutes, but thus far none of them seem to be a particularly good investment. In the years I've been shooting, I've been to a formal range only 3 times.

The nearest is a 50ft indoor pistol range (pistol caliber carbines also ok). At $120/year for membership plus $15 for every time you use the range, and you gotta buy their ammo and their targets. (non-members not allowed to shoot there except as guests). No thanks.

Another charges a meager $20/year for membership, offering the same restrictions on caliber and range, but is only open 2 days a week.

A third one charges each person $35 just to walk through their door, plus lane fees, and you have buy their targets and their ammo.

The last one may actually be worthwhile. $120/year, with no additional fees for actual use, and you can use your own ammo, you can use your own targets provided that they're approved. It's a 230-acre facility, parts of which are available for use 24/7.

The last one is probably not a bad deal, but here in Oregon, there are so many places one can go shoot for free, I am not sure why bother paying anything. Of course, when the whether is lousy, I often consider it.

I use an 50ft indoor range. Membership is $180(IIRC) per year for unlimited use. I think its $18 for the day and something like $10 per additional shooter on the lane. Although I do need to set aside some time to get out to BLM land or at least one of the outdoor ranges soon. BLM of course is free, I think the closest outdoor range to me is like $15 for the day.

I'm in westchester - not far from you.

I go to Blue Mountain Sportsman center in Peekskill. $12 hr large bore $10 small bore/pistol (haven t gone all winter and cant remember exact price...) less if you by a park pass.
They also have skeet & trap.

It's Outdoors. Not a bad place the only problem I have is that at the large bore range they only allow one round at a time. Not bad for bolt action but Using an semi auto it's a pain.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced club to join...

Wow Billy, that is high!

The premium range by me is $20 and hour. Half that with membership but their memberships are really high. The other range by me is $8 and hour with membership and the membership is only $90 a year. I like that range. :) (although the other one has 50yd lanes which are really fun!)

My range, Eagle Peak, charges $20 for lifetime membership, $10 for all-day range session ... they offer pistol ranges of 7, 15 and 25 yds, 200-yd rifle range and a separate shotgun range for SD practice and skeet ... also have a stocked shop with ammo, targets, a selection of guns and rent-a-guns, etc. haven't seen anything cheaper in my area, and it's really a very nice setup ... unless it's raining ...

And you can use your ammo and targets and collect your brass if you're into that ... can't believe some of the prices posted here ... I'd be SOL if I had to pay that much to shoot ...

nynomad: I'm about to go check out the Blue Mountain Sportsman Center today to shoot my Argentine Mauser for the first time and maybe some trap if time allows.
The website says they are only open from 11am-4pm which is a bummer but understandable since its outside. If they don't have lights for night shooting I'm sure the Westchester County Government isn't jumping to put money into a shooting range.

I shoot 99% in my yard but now I feel bad after reading yall's costs so I think Im gonna start charging myself $20.00 a year so I wont feel bad.:o

My range, Eagle Peak, charges $20 for lifetime membership, $10 for all-day range session

Bill I have to ask if thats a typo error or for real. Who in there right mind would not throw a $20 at it for a life time verses the $10 for the day
