How much do you shoot per range trip?

I was loading pistol rounds this past weekend on my single stage press which took me about six hours for only 400 rounds of .357. When I can honestly shoot 200 through my new GP100:D without trying.

I usually try to supplement by shooting about half a brick of .22 to get my fix without breaking the bank.

My question is, How much of each of your calibers do you shoot? and How long do you usually stay at the range.

I usually top out at 200 rounds of 9mm and 200 rounds of .45 in a range trip. Lately it's been closer to 150 rounds of each. I almost always end with a dessert course of .22lr, though, if I have the time. :D Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case so much these past few weeks.

I usually go twice a week - for a couple hours at a time in the evening.

I will often take more than one gun and sometimes different calibers / but for any given caliber, I usually plan on shooting 2 boxes per range session / then switch guns. Most of the drills or courses of fire I run through for practice are based on 50 rounds / and I like to run each drill twice.

I probably average 8 - 12 boxes a week.

I'm not trying to break your heart - but a lot of the progressive presses will easily turn out 1,000 rounds an hour. As you really get into shooting handguns - using a loader giving you only 60 or 70 cartridges an hour kind of takes the fun out of reloading / especially if you get into shooting some of the high capacity handguns in 9mm ( with 14 to 19 rounds per mag, my word). I look forward to the time I spend in the shop - reloading, working on a wood project, whatever ....but I don't want to go back to loading 70 rounds an hour. Xmas is coming up / I'm seeing quite a few good used loaders out there on the market too....might be time to add another loader to the mix / keep the single stage for rifle or something with a lower volume. I like the Dillon loaders ( like the 650 ) but RCBS, Hornady, etc are all making good progressive machines these days for under $ 500. I think the Dillon square deal is $ 340 brand new / and its a pretty good loader for the money.

Right now I'm usually only bringing one or two guns to the range, one 9mm and/or one .357 revolver. I tend to shoot 150-200 rounds of 9mm and 50-150 rounds of .357 depending on whether I have one or two guns. I try to hit the range at least once per week. Since I regularly have one of the pistol ranges to myself and don't have to wait or slow up for anyone else, I usually only spend 1 to 1-1/2 hours per session.

Well i originally got the single stage to start loading for precision rounds for my rifle. Then once i decided to start loading handgun rounds I just used what I had. But i'm DEFINITELY looking into a progressive. I enjoy reloading but all that time spent gets blown away too quickly when I'm not putting rounds through a single shot rifle.

I generally shoot about 100 rounds per pistol per trip. Except for those days where I couldn't hit the ground if I threw the gun down. I used to go at least once a week but lately it's been more like once or twice a month <sigh>.

I load on a single stage with a hand priming tool but I do it in stages.
One day i'll do a bunch of brass prep (tumble, decap/resize, bell the mouth) and another I actually do primers/powder/bullet.

When I have the brass prepped I can turn out about 100-150 rounds/hour so I'm able to keep ahead of my shooting with no real difficulty.

I take the "least ammo shot" award. I usually only shoot 50 rounds per 45 minute trip. I take one trip a week. I am very deliberate in aiming and shooting when practicing with my hunting handguns.

At least 100 rounds per gun, like Zespectre said.

I try to buy range reloads for target.

At least half what I shoot.

Helps out the range I shoot at.

i take it pretty easy. i try not to shoot more then 50rds of .45 and about the same for .38

.22 i just shoot until i'm bored.

i shoot no more the 100 rds of .45 or .38 a month.

once i get a .22 semi pistol, i'll probably go threw a brick a month.

Since I can reload the .38/.357 for about $5 a box as opposed to $15 a box I guess I can shoot a little more. Ever since I started shooting centerfire, I can't quit (I like the recoil). It's just getting more and more expensive to feed it. Especially as a starving college student. I have to translate every potential purchase into the cost of ammo.

"Well I could eat today OR buy make another order to Midway for bullets."

Good news is I've lost weight and my aim has gotten better. ;)

I only get to shoot a couple times a month. But I was just out on Sunday. Shot a total 500 rds. through two 9mm pistols, about 150 12ga. (shooting clays), and maybe 50 rds. through my 38 snub

About once a week, I take a .22 and a centerfire handgun to the range and spend an hour. Since my indoor range charges by the hour, this works out well. :)

I generally start out with perhaps 100 rounds of .22 if using my Ruger MkII, followed by 50 rounds of either 9mm or .45acp.
If shooting revolvers, about 50 rounds of .22 LR through my S&W M-18 and then 50 rounds of .38/.357/45 LC.

For the last six months, I've been trying to take people from work to shoot--many of them for the first time--took two ladies tonight.

More new shooters is a good thing, especially in today's political climate.

+1 to the above post. Since I've been in school, I've taken several new shooters out. One of them an anti-gunner. He asked why any rational person needed a high capacity magazine.

I handed him a 10/22 with a 25rd magazine. Funny how quickly people's views can change so quickly.

My typical range trip is about 100 rounds of 22 and 150 rounds of centerfire.

Last time it was the 22, 50 rounds of 38 Special and 50 rounds of 9mm.

I take a while to reload the ammo too, but I don't mind. It is kind of soothing. And it is especially good when I got to the range and the bullets go where I aimed them.

I live about 5min from my local range and stop by 3 or 4 times a week. If I bring a handgun(s), I'll typically shoot 100rds or less per session. If I'm shooting a rifle, I'll often set-up a reduced NMC course and shoot about 80rds.

Does everyone who shoots over 100 rounds of centerfire per session reload? Otherwise I can see ammo getting EXPENSIVE.

If I go by myself its ussually 120 rounds. 1 box of WWB and 20 rounds of my carry ammo. When I take my little brother or my girl we tend to shoot alot more, mainly because thats when the P22 comes out.
