Minimum stock is 500 for each caliber owned but feel better with 1000 of each and more of those I use frequently. Can't stand to have empty brass sitting around. It just calls out to be reloaded.
 
Between 4K and 5K. I shoot about that much in a year. I usually have about 1500 on hand, but I bumped into some great deals and bought 4000 rounds recently.
 
Enough. Remember, a handful of Jews with nothing to lose and a handful of guns held off the entire Wehrmacht for 27 days.
 
Just enough to handle a couple of waves of Zombies... I'm looking at buying some more to handle at least ten waves of Zombies....:)
 
More Then Most Not As Much As Some

I am old and gray :mad: but can still squeeze the trigger, have plenty of everything but don't want to be specific and have the BATF busting down my door.:D
 
I really don't think I could ever have enough ammo. I purchase factory loaded ammo and also load my own and it just NEVER seems like enough.:D
 
Ammo

My local walmart has tons of .38 winchester rounds sitting in stock, as well as 9mm. They are always sold out of the harder to find calibers like 40 and 32. I tend to stock as much fresh ammo as my budget allows and shoot off the old asap. I like to keep my ammo fresh for pistols, 1yr old or newer and military surplus ammo I find something that shoots good and buy as much as I can afford.

I have been building up a stock for several years. As a dedicated reoader since the early 1970s, and especially since I have not done all that much shooting in the last few years, at least compared to the quantity of loading I have done, it has turned into more than a few rounds in the last few years.

Somewhere over 25,000 rnds the last time I tried to do inventory, back in '05. I lost count, and gave up on it. I don't have "enough", because I have added a few new calibers since then, and don't have many rounds for the newer ones.
 
slowly building my stash up. 250ish of WWB .45(recently found at walmart after extensive searching) and bout 250 HSTs. the ongoing search for more continues....
 
31 155gr Hydrashok rounds in my carry gun/mags
15 Magtech Guardian Gold and 10 reloaded HP rounds in my bedside XD40
58 Remington FMJ .40

Way too much .22 ammo. Everywhere. I keep finding them in unexpected places. I think my storage container sprung a leak.
