How many rounds have you fired through your Beretta92FS...

Beretta 92

I've shot 3000 rounds through my 92 with no problems except a few jams which I would expect out of any Semi-Auto. The thing that surprises me about that Is my Glock 32 has never jammed
with at least a equal number or more of rounds through it

Why I traded

sapienza,

I traded the 92 for a Dillon RL550B and assorted eqipment. There wasn't anything wrong with it, it just happened to be the one I could live without at that time and a deal was made. Simple as that.

Pull out your flame throwers.

I had one for a brief period, came from factory with locking into battery issues. Multiple ftf's. Demanded and got a refund from Berretta. That was probably the best part of the whole experience.

From military service, I would not own one to save my ARSE, because I wouldn't trust it too. I've seen 9 slide/frame separations that caused user injury to one extent or another. These were not ragged out super high milage machines, 2 of them were within a few weeks of being added to the inventory. I personally watched the GM2 field strip one from the factory that failed a few weeks later.

CRAP, CRAP, and more CRAP. I realize many have had them, many have had wonderfull experience with them. The best (accuracy) I have ever seen came from a 92G.

I would NEVER own one again myself!

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I did actually own one for a brief period.

Well I've been around Beretta's for many years, both in the military and law enforcement field and I can say I have never, ever seen any problems (locking block, slide failures) as I have read on this forum. And I've seen some abused Berettas. Take it for what its worth

Beretta 92 FS INOX

Just over 2800 without one failure to fire. Still looks like NIB. One of the guns that will stay in my collection.

Well, okay, you invited it, don't whine about it later.

These two statements don't make sense together. This sounds like the usual sour grapes from someone who can't stand the fact that the U.S. military quit on the 1911 and instead chose the Beretta.

Dude, I don't have a 1911 either. Now the Military did make a good choice in the SIG, they just didn't do their homework on the Berretta.

I've seen about 20,000 rounds go through them without many problems. A few "limp wrist" holds but that was an operator issue that was worked out.

They are great guns, my only issue is they are a bit larger than a Hi-Power and don't feel as good in the hand to me.

What you mean to say is that they didn't do thier homework. . . because they didn't choose the one you prefer.

Calm down now, I'm saying this jokingly!

They did the homework on the SIG, but not on the Beretta? How does that work? There are plenty of people who believe they DID do their homework and still chose the Beretta. Who do we believe?

Doc,

As I said, I was joking (to certain extent).

I do think the Beretta gets unfairly maligned to a degree on this board, and since all of my experiences with them have been positive I sort of feel responsible to stand up for them.

I understand, this is all in good fun.

I unfortunately am one of those people, whom every time I have touched a Berretta, it has been broke, ftf, etc.

Everyone knew one of those people who anything they touched got screwed up? Well that's me and Berretta's.
I am CERTAIN that Berretta has made some very fine pistols lest they would not have sold millions of them. I personally have yet to have ANY luck with ANY of them.

:(

Ok guys, I'm getting ready to buy a new 92fs in stainless.
I promise to do my best to put 10000 rounds through it in a year.
if it breaks, I'll report it, and if it don't, I'll report that.

But c'mon, who here would feel unprotected with a Beretta 92fs in their hand?

Hmmm:

I have seen many problems this year on the road with the M-9 not to familiar with the civilian equivalent: this year 3 firing pins broke (2 continued to fire and were not noticed by the shooter but during technical inspection), 4 frames cracked, 3 locking blocks (old style) broken, and beaucoup magazine problems (more than I can remember) If you are military reading this look for magazines by "Check-Mate Mfr." be careful they tend to not pick up rounds, lock the slide open after the last shot and sometimes jam the round directly into the feed ramp and create a failure to feed. These M-9s that I repaired were using lower pressure ammunition than the G.I. spec. 124 gn loading. Last year we had only a few problems and most were linked to magazines of the above mentioned contractor and 1 or 2 locking blocks. As for a military pistol it is ok I have more problems with the caliber and the myriad of small parts on the weapon itself. The military rebuilds them after every 5000 rounds-due to frames cracking and other problems. The few civilian ones I have seen if memory serves me right had no problems. The G.I. guns most were no more than 7-8 yrs. in service and less than 5000 rounds through them. Would I own one: Yes would I feel comfortable taking it into combat: It would not be my first choice, about #3

I bet my life on a blue 92FS for quite a few years. Also used it in instruction. When I retired and turned it in, I had put approximately 23,000 rounds of Federal factory hardball, WW hollow points (duty ammo), and Federal hollow points (also duty ammo) through it. No malfunctions other than a few dud rounds but that was the factory's fault, not the pistol's. (When your agency buys 7,000,000 rounds of 9mm each year, you'll hit a few duds now and then.)

One of our armorers did a test on a new Beretta 92FS blue steel, putting approximately 70,000 rounds through one, with no breakages of any kind. This was done over a period of several years.

I bought a new one and have put approximately 2,000 rounds through it without any failures. (Ammo ain't free anymore.) Although I'm a died-in-the-wool Colt's .45 fan, I'd bet my life any day on the Beretta 92FS. Accuracy is most important when it gets down and dirty.

My 92FS was my first handgun that I bought in 1988, since then I have put about 500-1000 rds a year through it. OK, so I don't keep track of every round that I have put through my guns. But in 13 years of having this gun I probably have put 8000-10,000 rounds through it with no malfunctions, until last month.

I exprienced my first malfuntion after 13 years, the slide failed to lock back after last round fired. This happened about once in every five mags I ran through the gun the last time I used it. Looks like it will have to make it's first trip to a smith since I bought it NIB. I can say that I've been well pleased with my 92FS.

and from another 45 fan...

Just for the record, my prefered carry gun (when Wisconsin finally GETS CCW:mad: ) is a COlt 1991 Compact. However, the "house gun" is the 92. I've put a few thousand rounds through it, and can't remember any problems that were the guns fault. Had a couple FTFs while going through a can of surplus 9, but that was the ammo's problem...

I would defintely have no problems trusting my life to "Unca Petey's" nice little 9 ;)
