if the sh*t really hits the fan bad and armed revolt or such actions are out of the question due to people wimping out or whatever, will you haul ass out of amerika fast and go somewhere else? and where will you go?
or would u just give in?
i would go if it was beyond chances of winning an armed revolt, switzerland, or tristan da cunha 3 small island , in the south atlantic at 45 degrees latitude by 10 degrees longitude, half way between cape of good hope and coast of uruguay, 180 miles from tristan the more northerly and inaccessable the lower southern island of the three. it has about 27 familys living there, mail comes in once a month by boat. not sure of the laws there but it is so small that one might get away with possesion of certain objects.

I may move to a little place in the mountains somewhere but I was born in the USA and I'll die in the USA. I don't think I could live comfortably on some island knowing I ran away from home and let the prosperity handed to us fade without a fight. Besides, even if it were just a handful of freedom fighters it would be enough to give the rest hope. Look how long Chechnya (sp?) held out.

if i felt i needed to get away to gather what have you and then return then yes.

as a place to go if your house in the hills here is out of the question.

This is what I believe if Govt. decides to take all guns the vast majority of gun owners will turn in their guns. Those bumpers stickers that some people put on their cars (prying the gun from my cold dead hands) are cute but when push comes to shove will they be willing to give up all they've worked for homes cars etc.

Americans like to complain. But that's about as far as it goes. They'll work a job they hate for a lifetime just for a little security $$$.

It's a great dream - an island refuge for freedom-loving Jeffersonian patriots. BUT those South Atlantic islands are possessions of Great Britain. Do you think the pommies would send their special forces to defend the islands from invasion by a bunch of gun-totin' fanatic throwbacks? You betcha! They went further than that with the Falklands.

Why should we as the people be worried. There is enough of us people to defend what is and belongs to us. ALL BE D*** if someone will come into my home and tell me what i cant have. Next thing you know they will be charging for you to set in your own darn recliner if you dont watch it. As if they dont charge enough to own it. Moving out of this country is an option of LAST resort as far as I am concerned. Aside from the USA there are not that many countries I'd care to live in. There is alos limited land available to inhabit. You could disappear on some small island as chances are you wont have too many governements come after ya. Along those lines there are many places to disappear here in the USA also. If you can survive on some desert island then you can survive someplace in the USA, so why move? I think I am with Turk on the cold dead hands bit. Not many Americans would actually follow through with their boasts, especially at the rate the gov is going. There would have to be some VERY atrocios things done before people would be stirred in to action, and that aint gonna happen again. Just look at the reaction 60 some odd people burned alive got. Next to nothing. So unless someone does something REALLY stupid, the sheeple will just go along to get along. The few left over will be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives wondering when the next 1800-snitch on your friend line will have his location. Not a pleasent concept, but its coming.

Actually, I am considering a move. From Virginia, a firearm friendly State, back to Texas a more firearm friendly State. I think Texans would be more likely to fight for their rights. Virginians would let Douglas Wilder tell then what to do. Or, like Former Gov. Allen, flip flop on gun issues. :(

Tell it to Eric Rudolph (I think that's his name). You know, the alleged abortion-clinic bomber who has successfully hidden from the FBI for--what, a year or more now? Months and months, anyhow. They just recently reduced the forces looking for him, leaving enough to save face with a token effort.

Of course, part of his success is probably attributable to the storm-trooper behavior of the feds. There were news reports of locals, pissed off by the feds, who announced to all and sundry that if they _did_ know where he was, they sure as hell wouldn't tell the stormtroopers about it. [This, again, gives me hope--it does me good to see ordinary Americans treating federal thugs with the disrespect they so richly deserve.]
 
I live in the heart of the biggest Indian Rez in the USA here in NE Arizona. When Y2K came along, we all said, "How will we know?" So how will we know if the country falls apart or we're invaded? We probably won't. We live in "Year Zero" all the time out here so we're always ready to do whatever needs to be done.

I don’t have one of those bumper stickers. Do those get issued with every gun purchase :) Just kidding!

All of that aside, should we ever see the day of "Little Brother" taking away my firearms is the day my children become orphans, my wife a widow, my truck repoed, the lights shut off, ect..... because THEY WILL HAVE TO PRY THEM FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS! Most believe that is too extreme, but it is a necessary extreme. I would rather die fighting the good fight than to live as a slave.

Well shoot, it isn't safe now in some east coast urban areas, is it...? Just pick the right neighborhood and the authorities pretty much leave you alone. And you think the government is going to decide one day to come in and clean things up? You sir, have more faith in the abilities of bureaucrats than I do. John

P.S. - You think they will take the drugs and moonshine too when they come for the guns.
