How many of you just want to make noise??

I shoot firearms because:

1. I like hitting what I'm aiming at, with whatever I'm shooting, rifle, pistol, or shotgun;

2. I like the sound of gunfire when I shoot (even wearing ear protection). That's why I don't shoot bows, slingshots, airguns, or suppressed guns. I pay good money for the noise and really get (pardon the expression) a "BANG" out of it.

Nobody much reports they are in it for noise.

You can tell which guys are tho, they make lots of it, and use an old car for a target, bump firing and drinking beer with no ear protection.

It's not just for AK's only. In the day, we used 98k's. No bump firing. :(

I took it to mean making noise, not making loud noises,,,

I thought the OP was talking about simply making noise,,,
Rather than engaging in serious target practice.

It's probably 50-50 for me,,,
Sometimes it's drills and grouping on paper,,,
Other times it's picking out a dirt clod on the berm and rapid fire at it.

Like I said, it all depends on my mood.

Ya got me thinking !!!

The only time this comes into play for me, is when I'm shooting one of my SideLocks. ..... ;)

Noise, Smoke and Smell; It's a total package. ...... :)

Be Safe !!!

My various kalashnikovs and to a lesser extent my AR are used for this purpose. Hitting the target is always a big part of the fun as well, but doing it loud and fast is entertaining.

I live in a state with very few firing ranges and none of them allow non-paper targets or rapid firing. Let me say that slow firing at paper all of the time gets boring. I would like to be able to have a range where I can move around and shoot quickly at something other than paper. Noise making to me seems to be more fun probably because I never get to do it.

I'm not sure whether I'm offended for my obvious lack of guitar playing skills or complimented to be mentioned in the same thought as Mark Knopfler. I think complimented makes me feel better.

As Townsend Whelen put it: "Only accurate rifles are interesting."
