How many of you are NRA members?

I am now a member and have been off and on since 1953. Does anyone remember what a super magazine the American Rifleman was in the fifties and early sixties? Doc

Life Member NRA and Goal Massachusetts affilate. Doc I'm lucky enough to work with guys who bring in those old issues. Mail order rifles $29.00 it must have been great and non of the violence we have today.

I havent been paid up for a couple of years because I too got tired of the excessive mail I recieved. But after reading the replies to the question I will renew my membership.I bought a Charles Daly 45 and it came with a form for 10 dollars off the regular price!I will write the NRA and tell them what my concern's are.

I hate the constant begging for more money and to renew early. I renew but wonder how much money they waste on all the B*S* panhandling. I may move to another gun owners group in the future. We need to have a strong voice. This one is getting a little anoying always asking for money and "early" renewals!

I am, and I have the junk mail to prove it. I wish they would stop wasting money asking you to renew 11 months before your membership expires. Just send me a notice a month before it expires. Thats all I need. Keep the magazine too. Use that money elsewhere.

Imagine if the NRA had 60 million members, each and every gunowner. That would
be a big enough bludgeon to guarantee that all pols who came out against RKBA
would for sure have a curtailed political life. The fact that only 3 million
people care enough to join points less at poor NRA marketing ability (although
that's probably true) than the apathy of most gun owners who expect a free ride.

BTW, I subscribe to U.S. News & World Report and they send requests for renewal
almost before I get the first mag, so the NRA's not alone in that respect 8-}.

Geeze, the #'s keep getting higher on this one.
Yep, I'm a member, I think. After disregarding all of the hounding to re-up, I finally did it online (from their website) 1-1/2 months before expiration. Now, (3 months LATER), the charge has finally appeared on my Visa statement. By the time they stop hounding me for this year, they'll already be harassing me for next year. All of the junk mail aside, WHEN was the last time they actually DID something???? I must have missed it.

Was an NRA annual member in late 70's, then let it lapse. Signed up again in the late 80's.

Upgraded to Life in 1996

Upgraded to Endowment in 1998

Just upgraded to Patron this month.

Now I need to join SAF, GOA and probably JPFO. Can't let others fight my fight for me.

Bought my first handgun last December and joined up. The Glock came with a coupon good for $10 off the membership fee.

Member for two years, if nothing else I enjoy the travel rates they give and the fact that I have a voice in Congress!

I've been a member for five years. As for when was the last time they did something,
they stopped a handgun registration initiative here in Washington State.
It looked certain to win ("for the children")
but the NRA got the truth out there and the
initiative was overwhelmingly defeated.
Yes, I find the junk mail annoying and it
must waste resources. And yes, it's too bad
about the infighting. But don't kid yourself-
the NRA (and YOUR VOTE!) is the only thing
protecting your RKBA. JOIN THE NRA AND VOTE,
VOTE, VOTE EVERY ELECTION.
