How Many Different Holsters for the Same Gun?

I have a High Noon Down Under IWB, and a High Noon Paddle holster on order for my CZ PCR. Also a Cheap High Noon Bare Asset IWB and a Fobus Paddle.

For my full size CZ I have a Fobus Paddle, and since I haven't gotten around to getting one specifically for it, I use the Down Under from my PCR when I carry it IWB.

For my Kel-Tec PF-9, I just have a High Noon Bare Asset.

While I prefer (very) high-end custom gear, like that from Milt Sparks Holsters, Inc., I often buy used.

(When I had an FFL, I'd often get special or close-out pricing, too.)

Good gear lasts a loooong time.

I usually buy 2 holsters for every gun / Kramer horsehide - one IWB / one scabbard OWB ...... that keeps it pretty simple.

for 1911's ( 4" and 5" guns)
for K frame revolvers 4"
for Sig 226's
for Sig 239

I own one holster. $7.36 at Walmart. Of course, my KP90 is either in the safe or in a case enroute to the range, so there ya go...

Kinda looks like it was made for it, tho, eh? It's a Crossman, BTW.:D

I usually have 2 per gun. Buying similar models helps cut down on holster expense. My .45 and .40 both fit in the same OWB and shoulder holster.

I've got a IWB and pocket holster for my Smith 637.

The wife has three holsters for her carry gun.

I don't think I have had more than 3 at a time for any one handgun. I usually try a number of different variations before finding a set up that I really like.

Instead of throwing the others in a box, I just sell them to fund more holster purchases :)

Last month I started doing a little work with leather and my time and effort is finally starting to show. I'm actually turning out holsters that look and feel pretty good. Next step is to sell all of my "brand name" holsters so I can continue to fund my newest gun related hobby.

I do forsee big boxes of various holsters in my future :D

For you guys with extra holsters.. maybe list them on here. You won't get much, but I always look for holsters listed at good prices i can try and you will know they are getting use:)

I only have 5 holsters for three pistols. I am slowly acquiring more though.

I have way too many :(

OTOH, some of them fit several guns, I even have one IWB that fits both revolvers, 1911's and several Sigs and a FEG clone (although I never carry that.).

I goofed when I bought my 5" 1911 in December. I figured it would take too long to get the Milt Sparks so I ordered an IWB and an OWB from Blackhills Leather since they promised 4 weeks. Well, I found MS holsters earlier, the Blackhills holsters arrived today.

I also have some holsters that didn't work out so well, so they are mostly taking up space. I wouldn't really want to start counting how many I have total, LOL. Most people say they end up with a "box of holsters". The real question is: how big is the box???

I have 7 holsters for four different guns, all four would fit in any of the 7 holsters. For short, they are interchangeable.

Generally two, but sometimes more, depending on the gun.

I also try to buy holsters that work with more than one model of the same make, and sometimes, across makes. Very often, the same holster will work well with a couple of different makers.

I have to agree. I've paid as little as $5 and as much as $30. Never buy unless they are on sale or closeout. Always check Gun shows and auctions, one man's throw-away is another's treasure. Recently paid $5 for an OWB that is pristine condition and fit's my Bulldog and GP-100. Ya don't need the latest "Ultra Tactical Covert Stage IV" made exclusively for a particular model.
Too Many polymer P.O.S. with a lotta gadgets "that with proper training" will not just get in the way.

I have more holsters for the carry gun (PM9) than all the rest put together.

1. Hume SOB (useless for me)
2. Hume IWB
3. Hand made Kydex IWB (current favorite)
4. Uncle Mike's Sidekick pocket model
5. Hand made leather slide

That's all for now.

I no longer buy numerous holsters before finding one that I like. I love the Alessi CQCS. That's all I buy for my medium to large frame ccws. In the summer I carry a mouse gun in my front pocket with an inexpensive pocket holster. I just stick with what I know I am comfy with and I know works for me.
Before finding the Alessi, I bought numerous holsters, mostly lower end holsters. I finally broke down and spent the money for a better holster, and have never regretted it.

Left handed nightmare - the Holster!

For all of my handguns I have at least 2 holsters. One right handed for my wife and 1 left handed for me. We have 9 handguns and a large closet shelf just to store all the holsters and gun belts.
My S&W Model 66 has 3 holsters just for me. Duty style for the shooting range. A pancake holster for winter semi-conceal under my jacket, and an IWB for better weather.
My S&W Model 669 pistol - so far 7 LH holsters for me and 2 RH for the wife.
I honestly can't find a LH holster that is comfortable, fits the gun perfectly and/or conceals well. So I've bought many just for my carry pistol.
Some are Black, and others Brown.

All but 1 of my holsters were internet purchases since there is no store in my regoin that sells anything in left hand. I've bought a couple on advice from the guys here and they are all high quality holsters. The best part is that I now have a holster for 100% of my carry needs, from the shooting range to full close conceal and everything in the middle.
At this moment I'm bidding on one more holster for the 669 pistol. You can't ever have too many holsters.
And for the record I have given away 5 or 6 here on TFL in the days of PIF. Giving it away is a good way to get rid of some of your excess stuff.

I have 5 different models of holsters for my just for my 2 LCP's! Only 1 so far fo the PPS's. I like to have an IWB, an OWB, and pocket if availabe. Having a good and varied selection of holsters available is key to always being as armed and as comfortable as possible no matter what you may be wearing.

Zombieslayers PPS holster? what model?

Hey zombieslayer, can you post a pic and info on the holster for your PPS.
My wife just bought one and we need a holster for her too.

Can't get pics up just yet but I've been toting the PPS in a DeSantis Insider holster appendix area and its a slick and comfy setup. I love DeSantis holsters and the pps model was 26$ at Shoot Straight in Apopka Fl. I also have the Insider holster for my LCPs and its absolutely awesome. I'm skinny and about 5'10 and the iwb appendix is my best carry option other than pocket carry. Good luck
