How many different EDCs have you gone through?

Last 20 years, Glock 19, changed to Glock 19, 4th gen, 5 years ago? A tiny bit smaller in the grip, better to grip re the wee pyramids on the frame, especially when wet, or cold.

Same gun, same place (outside the belt) at 3-30, spare G17 mag, opposite side, next to Surefire light.

TruGlo night sights, fiber optic, bright green dots. Great in any light.

Four lb. trigger, clean release. Usual Glock short reset. Extended slide release.

All day and every day. Winchester 147g Ranger T, non plus P. Very accurate.

I IWB carry a Bersa BP9cc during mild weather; Keltec p32 IWB during hot weather; and an LCR .38 in a jacket pocket during cold weather or in a fanny pack when on the bike or in the canoe.

There are a lot now that I think back on it. Some where carried a lot and others were only carried a little bit because something else ended up filling that role better. Lets see if I can remember all of them: Glock 17, Glock 19, Glock 26, S&W Shield, S&W 642, S&W 64-2 2", CZ 82, FEG PA63, Sphinx SDP Compact, and CZ P-01. Glock 26 and the Shield get carried the most now. The 642 was carried the most until I purchased the Shield.

Started with a Smith 40VE, then a Kahr CW9 which I carried for a couple years, then a CZ75, then a CZ Rami, then a Sig P250 subcompact and now for past few months a Smith 5906 and a Ruger P89 from time to time.

There have been others carried for shorter periods including Glock 23, Smith 9VE, Smith 4006, Sig P250 compact, CZ 40P. IMO all have been suitable for concealed carry but my preference is a full size non polymer gun like the 5906, the Ruger P89, or the CZ75.

I currently carry a P11 and couldn't be happier with it. The trigger is pretty much like shooting a double action revolver, but that was what I was looking for. I mostly shoot revolvers and wanted a similar trigger on a pistol with no safety to make me feel more comfortable carrying with a round in the chamber. It has been 100% reliable, not one issue and I actually find it fun to shoot. If you can live with the trigger I see no problem with the gun.

I don't have one but the P-11 is on my list of guns to buy. There are a couple aftermarket triggers available for them that make them more comfortable to shoot. Also, you are actually getting a 12+1. There are 12 round flush fit factory mags for the P-11.

I keep going back and forth on the P11; the availability of aftermarket trigger upgrades is a point in its favor, because it means I get to open her up and tinker...

Plus, it's cheap enough that it won't blow my budget if I don't actually like it. I really wish I could rent one somewhere.

There are S&W magazines that fit the P11, 15 rounder's, not suggesting carry that way, too big, but as a spare? Great. They lock the slide back when empty also.

I have used a p226, and later decided polymer really was better for EDC. Right after I got my carry license I think psychologically I expected people to know I was carrying and so the p226 seemed like the kind of gun I'd want to have if I were to be involved in a violent shooting incident, which almost felt more likely because if I'm carrying and others know it the only people who would seek a violent engagement would also be armed. A P226 is a nice heavy duty combat pistol. As I got more comfortable and realized carrying didn't change my environment or the attitudes of others whatsoever I shifted to a P30, which is polymer, for lighter weight and ease of carry. I'll probably never use it in the wild and so comfort is the trump card.

Besides, I realized once I had a gun that I would rather never use it and so as a carrier I'm very conflict averse and yielding, moreso than before I carried, so I'm probably less likely to be engaged in a violent confrontation than before I started. With that in mind truly comfort is more important than shootability of the pistol. A full sized p30 has been a good balance for me.
