How low to go with Cowboy Loads

Condor, in the overall scheme of things, I'd agree Trail Boss is a fast powder. But it's not as fast as Red Dot, Clays, bullseye, Nitro 100, 700x, etc. Which are faster powders and more appropriate for very light target loads in .38spl. I've found that Trail Boss is too slow for ultra light loads in CAS.

For light/low recoil rifle loads, Trail Boss is the Boss, so to speak.

DMY:
Regarding Trail Boss powder for the .38, especially for your short barreled revolvers, definitely, I would think, be guided by what sawdustdad has said about it. Best to continue using the powders you have. But for your rifles, should you have any, for just plinking or paper punching TB can be the way to go. I have never used it for handgun loads so we should be advised by someone who has.
