How long is your typical range sessions?

On the average...4 hours, since I usually get tired after 4 hours of shooting, and I don't want to shoot while I'm tired; due to safety concerns and pick-up of bad shooting habits --- But I always like to end the day by shooting a bullseye, so I can walk-off the range with self-confidence.

We have a range set up on our farm. We have steel and target boards set up at varying distances for rifle and pistol. We also have a seperate rimfire range and a clay launcher. So depending how many people are hanging out shooting or it just me blasting away for fun could be 20 minutes or 5 hours. I do like the 2 minute commute tho. :D

Indoor pistol range = 1 hour

Outdoor range (the club I belong to) = 8-9 hours

My club is a 90 minute drive from my house (one of the closest with a 600 yard range). So when I go, I try to make a day of it. No point in spending 3 hours in the truck to shoot for 2 hours.

I go the 4th Saturday every month as there is an informal long range match that morning every month. After that, I set up shop and shoot the rest of day, trying to be home by 7:30 pm for dinner.

I go once a month, and usually take 5-6 rifles along with 2-3 handguns to shoot during that 8 hours. If I am doing a lot of load development that day, it may be 3-4 rifles. Usually an AR/AK/SKS or something of the like to plink steel with, and the rest will be shot for group ranging from 200-600 yards. Every other month or so I will bring a shotgun and shoot some trap as well.

i also shoot outdoors. but it's a bit of a drive to get where i really LIKE to shoot(35min). so i try to make a day out of it. actual shooting, generally about 4 hours or until it gets too hot. but time at the range, about 6 including time to get set-up and break down and clean up. plus hunting brass usually takes up about 30 minutes of my day as well. try to get there at 6am and be gone by noon

Mine are of two types,,,

The university I work at is only 12 miles from my range,,,
And after work I only have an hour and a half of decent daylight,,,
These are very common though as my workplace is closer to the range.

I typically go and shoot one box of centerfire,,,
Then maybe some rimfire for fun,,,
This is just trigger time for me.

If it's a Saturday or Sunday I make a long day of it,,,
I pack a bunch of sandwiches and water in my best cooler,,,
As well as a comfy reclining lawn chair and an awning for shade.

I'm typically there for 6-8 hours,,,
It's a mini-vacation in my mind.

On these days I'll shoot for awhile,,,
Then take a break and read a bit of my book,,,
Then gather up the next fieryarm and play with it for awhile.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

It's a good 30 miles from my house,,,
So I tend to make the day worthwhile and enjoyable.

Also I have found that doing the shoot then relax awhile thing,,,
Really helps me to settle down and concentrate.

And, I get to talk to more of the other range members,,,
A bit of shade and some cold water has made me some friends.

Usually 1-2 hours, depending on how many participants and what we have for firearms variety. Sometimes I'll go out in my back yard and pop off a few rounds for grins which could only last for 10 or 15 minutes. I have gone out shooting with 4 other guys and that lasted more than 4 hours. If I recall we had over 30 guns that morning to try out so it took awhile.

I live close to a range, and I pay a yearly fee, each visit costs nothing extra.

I go once, sometimes twice a week.

With handguns: 50 rds. 22lr, then 50 rds. 9mm. It probably takes 30 to 40 minutes.

With rifles: 50 rds. 22lr, then 30 rds. 223. About 30 minutes.

Depends on what I'm doing...

Shooting up junk laying about on the 25 yard pistol range will run me out of ammo in about an hour, maybe a bit more if I dig too deeply into the 22lr stash.

Slow shooting a rifle at a bench can last 2hr+ due to 5-10 shots per dot and the regular need to shuffle down and swap targets and the wait time involved.

When I go by myself I tend to stay a lot longer, someone else along runs me out of ammo quicker and they're usually ready to go in an hour anyway since they're not usually gun nuts.

Hot or cold temps will run me off real quick too... especially hot.
I hate sweating while sitting still and I'm not too keen on a smoking hot pistol either.
Numb fingers are no fun to reload with either.

I usually go to the club every week, at least every other week. The length of time I'm there varies a lot. I'm off work on Mondays so I usually go in the morning and I've got the place to myself most times. Sometimes I'll get there at 9AM and am gone by 11AM. Sometimes I'm there all day.
Lately I 've been trying to just take one gun and actually practice drills and shoot the plate racks which burns up ammo quick. Usually 200-250 rounds in an a little over an hour, but this week I'll be trying out some new long range AR toys (new bench rest, new AR trigger and optics). I'll have a 15 lane 300yd rifle range to myself so it'll take me five or Six hours or I'll make it take that long.

30 minutes to an hour, tops. I belong to an indoor pistol club, so I could stay as long as I want without regard to cost. But I find that if I am shooting any of my carry guns, about 50 rounds from each gun is about all I enjoy. If I am shooting 22LR then I might stay a full hour, or on rare occasions, even more.

Maybe a 1/2 to an hour every day when I'm home. Just step out the back door and blast away. At a formal range - 2 to 3 hours.

I mainly get to our shooting club 3 or 4 times a week, sometimes there for an hour and sometimes there for 2 or more hours.

Like Upstate, I have a range at my home in the country. I might shoot 5 rounds just for fun, or I might be in load work up mode and test loads for most of a day or two.

One hour inside, as ranges charge by the hour. Outside, when I get the chance, it's usually upward of 3 hours. There are two OS ranges here that I am definitely going to join, but haven't as of yet.
