How far to your Outdoor Range ?

9 miles to the club I belong to. It has a combat range, trap range, pistol range both indoor and outdoor, rifle range out to 300 yds, archery range and two fishing ponds with great small mouth bass fishing catch and release only, crappy fishing and you can keep what you catch.

Open door and I am there.... Nice

Open door and I am there.... Nice isn't it.

My club range is about 40 miles. A free public range about the same.
A private for-pay range about 25 miles. A club range I don't belong to about 15 miles.
And.....OH, yes :D .......my own in the yard. About 20 feet from the door.

7 miles and a 10 min drive(no traffic or lights to deal with) to my local DNR range. They have rifle out to 100yds, 10yd pistol, trap, archery and knife/axe throwing lanes. Its $4 all day and kids are free. After that there are lots of other ranges but the ones I go to are a structured one on a state game area an hour away where its free to shoot and you can rapid fire, holster draw etc.. The other place is in a field deep in the woods with a natural backstop on a state game area 45 mins away. That one is where we bring all of our reactive targets and play all day for free.

About an hour. On the freeway.
There are several. All about the same distance, in different directions.
My favorite is 3 days on the motorcycle. Because it's in the middle of nowhere in Utah.

12 miles to the local indoor range.
15 miles to the local outdoor range, max distance is 100 yds.
40 miles to the two closest club ranges, max distance is 200 yds.
10 feet to my airgun range in the garage.

It's about 12 miles to an outdoor range. It's mostly county and state road, so about 15 minutes door to target. I didn't know it was there until about 3 months ago. Amazing what you can find on Google.

I've got three public ranges within 20 miles, 2 indoor pistol and one out door with all the fixins, 100 yrd range limit. When I really want to burn up some ammo I head to the deer lease 90 miles away. It's a long drive but no crowds and no range limit.

The best outdoor range for me is 43 miles door-to-door. They're cheap, I can take a lane all day long for like $4. Plus, they don't harass me about NFA stuff. Plus plus, I never leave there with less than a couple thousand cases to reload.

Other than that there's another outdoor range less than 10 minutes away in city traffic, but they pester me and try to "educate" me on NFA law. Problem is they're wrong about what they're saying 90% of of time and it makes shooting much less of a pleasant experience. Because of that I usually just make the drive or shoot indoors.

My Club Range

My club range has activities going on all the time. Skeet, trap, outdoor prone 22 rifle, outdoor 22 semi auto shooting steel knock down plates. Winter indoor 22 SA and Lever 22 shooting polomar plates.
Outdoor has 25, 50 100 yards to the dirt pile.
A two acre pond for fishing.
1/2 mile from anything and anybody. long driveway, gated.
Distance, not Great, but not bad either.
I have enjoyed all the posts. Thanks

15 miles to Rio Salado. Public range is 12.5, 25, 50,100, 200, and 300 yards. Nice place and ROs like to shoot. They run a pretty tight ship and I like that.

Fifty yards to the bench for 300 yards and most other shooting. But on rainy days I shoot .22s out of e garage.

But the end of the year I will have a climate-controlled shooting house in my barn with 30 yard pistol backstop nd 300 yard rifle backstop, 30 yards from the door.

Although there are ranges a lot closer, I prefer to drive 2 hours down 58 to my friends private property. I don't have to pay range fees, no crowds, and I can shoot as long as I want to. We're talking 400 yards.

About 75-80 paces...or off the deck if I'm just gonna clear a mag.
Have been known to shoot out the window a time or ten but momma gets a little excited if I don't forewarn her. :D

Another one for outside the door on the porch. I do have a rifle range I backyard out to 200 yards and pistol range to 30 yards and have gongs for pistols at 100 yards. Also done a lot of shooting out windows and killed a lot of deer out windows.
