How do you remove the rear sight on a CZ 455?

I want to put a scope on mine and I can't figure out how to remove the rear sight. I don't mind leaving the base on the I just need the leaf portion removed if possible.

Any suggestions?

Rather than attempting to describe this, I'll give you this link.

Basically, you push down on the pivot end and pull the ladder back.

As you can see, you can remove the ladder but not the sleeve on the barrel.

I have the 452 which I assume is the same setup as your 455. I have a scope on mine and being it's a 7 power and the rings standard, I have don't need to remove the ladder. If you put on something more robust with a bigger bell I suppose you would need to remove it.

Hope this helps

Have two scoped 455s, never needed to remove sights.

I'm using a Nikon 3x9 40 scope with medium rings and it won't fit. I wonder if mine being the training model makes a difference?

I put a picatinny base on mine and it was enough for a scope with a 40mm bell to clear with medium Warne rings. I think DIP made my base.

I'm a simple (as in lazy) soul & I just went with the CZ set-up because it was an easy one. :)

The scopes do sit a shade higher than some people like, but it was "Got gun, got glass, got rings from same gun people, stick glass on guns, go play."
Works fine here, with a 455 FS & a 455 synthetic suppressed. :)

DPris,

I hear you. The DIP rail,on mine makes changing scopes a real snap. All of my rifles save one 700 BDL have rails just for that reason. The only thing I do is confirm a 25 Yard zero with a laser and I am good to go to tweak in at 100 yards.
