How do YOU pronounce guns with 3+ number names?

Remember, the numbers mean something. I've always let the designation determine pronunciation. 30.06, .30 caliber introduced in 1906, so thirty O six or thirty aught six. Smith and Wesson 5906, 59: 9mm 0: standard frame, 6, stainless frame and slide. So in my mind, 59 O 6. I could be really over thinking this though.

I take that into consideration with what I choose to lust after... or own...

I really want a Mossberg 9:30 to go with the Five Hunert... I also have the Savage Mark Two... not Mark Eye-Eye...

Ruger Ten Twenty Two, Smith and Wesson Four Fifty Nine, Mossberg Five Hundred, Remington Woodsmaster Seven Fourty Two, Saucer Kraut, Sawyer Braten....

How about a 250X3000?....

For what it's worth, it's not "two fifity by three thousand."

That particular cartridge was just known as the "250-3000," indicating (rather optimistically as far as I'm concerned) that the muzzle velocity of the round was 3000 fps.

It would properly be spoken: "two fifity, three thousand."

Ruger Ten Twenty Two, Smith and Wesson Four Fifty Nine, Mossberg Five Hundred, Remington Woodsmaster Seven Fourty Two, Saucer Kraut, Sawyer Braten....

And let's not forget the Colt-Saucer rifles of the 80s.

In TX, it's a 6 forty OOPS. :D

Today I heard that NBC is looking for questions for the next presidential candidates' debate.

Send in the question through the Meet the Press facebook page. See if they really know their guns?

I'm bad.

Also, can anyone tell me what a "shotty" is?

Short for shotty lymphadenopathy:

The clustering of multiple small, contiguous and indurated lymph nodes, palpable in the inguinal, cervical and other regions in children with viral infections, which, if palpated in adults, would suggest syphilis or metastatic CA

Also used by youngsters who think they are cute and hip to denote a shotgun. It is seldom used by mature shooters who know how to spell.

As most others have said-first two numbers together and the rest where they wind up.

I must admit if someone ever called a nineteen eleven and nineteen -one -one-,I'd probably pass out laughing.:D

Oh, yeah, Eva and Sawyer Braun... how could I forget?

As I was thinking about three number guns, I realized I break my caliber pronunciation pattern for the S&W 457. That one I would call a "FourFiftySeven," but I'd call a 4516 a "Forty-FiveSixteen." I suppose I could call it a "Forty-FiveSeven", but that would read kind of funny.
