How do you carry your J frame?

Hope it's not a fashion faux-pas, but...

I carry my Model 36, front right pocket, Levi's 501's (loose-fitting, thank you). Been doing it for years. ;)

To - don't shoot it's me

I tried your suggestion and it worked great. I took an Uncle Mike's IWB and put it between my pants and belt (clip over belt) and it worked great. I wore it just in front of my right hip bone. Thanks for the suggestion, I highly recommend it. Mike

You are welcom Mike..now here is one more little sugestion I think you will like....these holsters are very slick inside and the gun tends to slip out very easy...pinch the excess material around the top of the back strap...then just sew it up depending on how much retention you want..really helps keep the gun from slipping out....and feels just like a custom holster...I'll show yo a picture of how I did mine..next time I post...

don't shoot it's me,
I have an Uncle Mike's for a J frame which worked ok but the one that really worked was the one I have for my Sig 230! Nice tight fit and the piece on the backside that sticks up is a nice barrier between me and the grip. I found that with either holster it worked fine, I just preferred the semi auto model and the way it worked. Thanks again for your help, its the ideal solution for my carry situation. Mike

The Uncle Mike's is the thinnest holster I've seen. The old one was better than what they offer now. It had a metal clip without all the plastic reinforcing attached and the revolver sat lower in the holster.

Back when I didn't have a tire I carried a 2" M36 in the appendix position with the Uncle Mike's and an untucked shirt of some sort. The gun just disappeared; all that was above the waistband was that little bitty J frame handle. That method of carry and pocket holsters are the most discreet ways of carrying a J frame.

The appendix carry works a little better with a dehorned M36 or M60 than a Centenial. The extra grip height on a Centenial works against you, but I'm nitpicking.

I'm partial to the Mitch Rosen WKM (Workman), which is an IWB that gives you the capability to tuck in a tshirt or dress shirt, giving total concealability with or without a jacket. Or, if one choses, use it like a regular IWB. My .357 640 stainless just vanishes with it.

Great stuff.

Cheers,
Mike

I often use an ankle holster from Renegade right out of Phoenix. The one with a leather pouch and a strap covering the trigger guard. Works great, secure, and sometimes I forget it is there.

I also have a Master from Dillon that works well for OWB.

I second the renegade...hands down the most comfortable ankle holster made...and the most concealable since there is no stiff leather holster sticking away from the band...the strap is only for retention, no unsnapping....you just pull the gun through...

Cary j frame M60 .357

I carry my M 60.357 J frame with Hogue Bantum grips front pocket right side in a Galco Horse Hide #PH118 holster.

In a IWB holster that I made myself, or in one of two ankle holsters! I have a S&W model-260Sc so there is no weight on my ankle like my Ruger SP-101.

In-the-pocket....all day comfort

I carry my Smith 340SC in the front pocket of my pleated pants in an Uncle Mike's size 4 soft fabric pocket holster. Supremely comfortable and the holster completely breaks up the profile of the gun. Comforting to have all that power hiding discreetely.
