I buy cast pistol bullets in fairly large QTYS at time- usually 10K+ per order so I get a nice discount.

www.mastercast.net - great bullets at great prices.

My preferred plated bullets are berry's and Extreme, I always buy in bulk whenever possible to get discounts

I have dabbled in commercial cast bullets but haven't gotten a heap of joy from them over the years. Moved to plated probably a decade or so ago from Berry's and have shot many thousands of their slugs with fantastic success. Transitioned to Xtreme later due to price and volume discounts. I find both brands to be terrific for most recreational shooting needs but they are lacking when I pull out extremely accurate, top-drawer handguns. For those guns I use commercial swaged lead or jacketed bullets.

I tend to make my bullet purchases in large volume, often going in on a group buy with one or more friends and we spend a pile of money when we do this.

I have never attempted to cast a bullet. Back when I started handloading (1989) it seemed like something I would like to do one day. Now it seems like bulk lead is harder to find, far more expensive (than FREE) and I don't see myself ever going through all involved with casting. I love that I can buy bulk bullets and stack them deep.

I use to cast all the lead bullets I loaded, but no longer. I buy about all lead bullets I normally shoot and only cast particular examples not normally found: example would be swc for my .45 Colts as commercial cast bullets are much too hard and leave soldered alloy in the forcing cone. Also they are not remotely as accurate as my cast ones. Commercial hard bullets work fine, however, in the pistols.

I shoot mostly muzzleloaders, now, and have to cast 100% of the ball fired from these guns. Casting bullets is too much in addition to the ball casting.
