how active are squirrels

i've seen a few over the years during the last 2 hours of daylight. this season 09/10 i've been doing more am hunts than pm for deer. and between the hours of 7 and 8 am i've seen the most. darn things are coming in after the corn i put out for the deer. i saw 5 at one time munching away at my deer bait just this thursday. rifle in my hands waiting for deer. i'm sure to get a few with shotgun next month.
 
We just got out from under a long cold spell here... I haven't seen any activity to speak of for better than a week. Now that it warmer I hope to drop 2 per week as Junior's Boa hasn't eaten in a few weeks.

They are at the bottom of the pop cycle here. In 2 mo it will be even lower.
