Do you have a chronograph?

Hot .44 specials
For 3 inch revolvers designed to fire Magnums, how do they handle the recoil, for say a buffalo bore .44 special?
I am not sure what you are asking.
A 3" revolver designed to fire Magnums, will handle the recoil of any SAAMI spec 44 Special just fine. Making the assumption that Buffalo Bore loads to more than SAAMI specs for the 44 special, (such assumption may or may not be valid), a 44 Magnum will probably handle the recoil just fine as well.
I reason that Buffalo Bore, even if they push the envelope of 44 Special with a "+p" version, it will not be as high a pressure as even a SAAMI 44 Magnum.
Keep in mind that I am talking about the GUN, not your hand.
If you are asking how much the gun will punish your hand, that is more complex.
Let me suggest that whatever question you are asking, if you don't chonograph your loads, write down the velocities you get from your gun and bullet weights, you are never going to get usable answers.
Do you have a chronograph? Prices are in the $100 range for the least expensive, and that is only a few boxes of ammo, to put it into perspective.
