Home made drying rack corrosive metal?

"...being corroded by contact with the wet brass..." Isn't going to happen in the short time it takes for the cases to air dry.
Like USSR says, cookie sheet in a warm oven(whatever the lowest setting is.) for 15 minutes and a further 15 minutes for cooling.
"...if they make stainless steel wire mesh..." Yep. Dollar store strainer.

I don't know the size of your rack but a good fix that I used was placing "plastic canvas on top of my rack."

Dehydrator it is the best IMHO you can pick them up for about $30. your cases will be dry in about 20 minutes. It is fast easy and little clean up!

If you have hard water the white powder could be the mineral content of the water. If we run a humidifier in the house with tap water it leaves a white dust on surfaces from dissolved solids in the water.

"Does anyone have any ideas?"

Yep, lube 'em, size and deprime 'em, prime 'em, dump in some powder and seat a bullet. Lets go shooting. Ya don't wash brass!
