Authorities are expected to hold a press conference after a Palmview homeowner shot and killed a burglar in his home.

It all happened some time between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Palmview police told Action 4 News that a burglar broke into a man's home.

The homeowner reportedly shot the burglar five times.

The burglar died from his injuries.

The details of the shooting were not immediately available but under Texas state law, homeowners are allowed to use guns to defend their homes.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
