holster suggestions

need some ideas, looking for a cc holster for a woman ,she is 5"2" and 100lbs.needs to be able to conceal a beretta tomcat 32 in business attire. what do you think?

Does she normally wear a suit jacket in her business attire?

How important is the Concealed part?

In other words is open carry illegal?

How about something like the CompTac Minotaur with c-clamps.

Another thought is to watch this youtube video of a woman concealing firearms in various attire. If your wife sees something she thinks is workable, go with that. If not, the maker of that video might be able to point you in the right direction.

My last thought is to sell (or keep for yourself) the pistol and get something she can conceal a lot easier (keltec or the such).

For a small gun like that I would have her consider an IWB holster with a single clip. Something like this...but make it "tuckable" so she can conceal it with just about any attire.

No jacket, probably lose her job if they knew she was carrying

The tomcat is a thick, heavy gun. Her only two options are pocket carry or IWB. However, IWB won't work unless you find a tuckable holster that will allow her tuck in her shirt around the holster. My buddy carries a Tomcat and from what I've seen, holster options are pretty limited for this gun.

She could likely get away with pocket carry but I'm not sure that is ideal either. There are lots of pocket holsters available.

Personally, I'm not sure I'd risk carrying at work if my job was at stake. With that, if she really feels she needs to carry, I'd suggest she purse carry. There are purses designed for CCW. Additionally, there are day planners that serve as a way to conceal carry as well. A quick google should turn over examples of both.

I would think something in a dedicated 'concealed carry purse' or special satchel with holster compartment. Wearing 'on person' probably isn't an option, unfortunately.

Looks like you beat me to it.

I got my wife to check out some of the CCW purses and she said they looked too "old ladyish",bear in mind she is only 23. The salesman told us that the purses they carried were made by a company who consulted Coach when designing them. I don't know if that was a line or the truth but according to Mrs. Khalil, they were nothing like a Coach.

Ive used a Kramer Confidant undershirt holster with good result. You can actually easily carry a full size pistol and double reload under a full cut dress shirt with no troubles. It does get old towards the end of the day though. Two smaller guns, like SIG P230s are much more comfortable.

I also have a 5.11 undershirt holster, but dont like it. The gun moves around way to much, and the shirt is so "white", it looks like I just got out of boot camp when I wear it.

I still feel that, of all the holsters of the type Ive used, the Smart Carry is one of the best deep concealment holsters going. You can wear it under anything, even a pair of shorts or sweat pants with no shirt, and no one is the wiser. Ive used one with a SIG P239 and P230, but my Seecamps work the best for me with what I normally wear pants wise. Its fast and easy to get to the gun when wearing pants, and I would be just as easy with a skirt. A full dress may be a tad more difficult though, but could still be easily done.

Job and surroundings concerning enough to require carry? Sounds like she needs a new job... Seriously, I don't mean to sound like a smart ass, but you have to ask yourself (or she does) what the real issue is. Does she work with a person(s) of questionable stability? Report it. Does she otherwise feel unsafe? Report it. Document it all. If it's not mitigated by the employer they hold the liability.

Of course, there are many jobs that require a person to be in places where security is a concern, and many employers aren't sympathetic to those of us that choose to not be victims. If this is the case, then I'll agree with the suggestions of either a slimmer/smaller gun (Keltec) carried in a tuckable IWB, or off body carry in a specially designed purse (not ideal). But that said, if the threat is that real, I wouldn't be carrying a .32.

Just my $.02.

From what I've read many women don't like smart carry style bolsters because their pants fit much tighter. I wouldn't recommend a purse either. I think some type of shoulder hoster under the shirt or undershirt holster or bra holster is the way to go. Keep in mind that dark colors with patterns help too.

I would recommend a different gun in this scenario as well.

One other thing that may work if she wears a skirt is a thigh holster. Some women like them.

Thanks JerryM for the link to Kathy's web page. My wife has down-loaded Kathy's book to her Kimble and is reading it.

An excellent 2 cents, AKrob!!

If the situation or need does require her to carry, I'd suggest something in .308 or, better, .38 SPC over the .32 for concealed protection for stopping an attacker. My wife carries a .38 Smith & Wesson 342PD in a thigh holster. It's lightweight, as titanium revolvers tend to be, and with practice darned accurate. It feels like a toy in my hand, but a well made firearm. Also, being a revolver, its simpler to use and maintain compared to a semi-auto.

Hope this helps!
