Hogue HANDALL...

Brilliant Addition to my FNP-45

After seeing it online and reading about it here, after a while, I decided to give it a try.

Installing it on my FNP-45 (non-USG) with the arched backstrap was a challenge to say the least. I started by giving the grip a thorough alcohol wipe to rid it of fingerprints before installing. Before installing I highly recommend heating it as it does (to a small, but significant, degree) make it more workable. I did not heat mine before installing and this made it very tough. Nevertheless, after 20 minutes of power-poking and I was able to install it. Despite the installation hardships it was worth every coin; greatly improved my grip (I have really big hands) and the cushioning finger grooves it added improved comfort during long shooting sessions.

I must emphasize however that the grip sleeve does adhere well--- perhaps too well, which is good for holding the pistol but may cause unwanted shirt and waist snagging on concealed carry applications but not a problem for me as I do not use my FNP-45 for concealed carry.

Hogue really has a winner with this grip sleeve. Highly recommended!

Don't like them because they move about when they get warm and old, and there's no good way of securing them to the grip, unless you want to glue them.

I have very large hands and I either buy guns that you can install screw-on Hogue grips, or replaceable back plates.

I glued one to my KNOXX tactical shotgun stock for my 870, since the damn thing cost me less than 40 bucks and I didn't care about ruining it.

They are better than nothing on some guns but they do squirm and shift around. Kind of like a "one size fits all" condom. They don't.

Gives me a way better grip on my G19 and G26. I really like them. Just becareful not to get water in there, its a pain in the butt to get it off and dry it up.

I've never been a Glock guy, but I tried the Hogue HANDALL on my old department-issued 5906 once. In my case, it tended to shift quite a bit. I ditched it shortly thereafter.
