Hogue HANDALL...

Yesterday, at a gunshow, I purchased a "Hogue HANDALL" on the way out as an impulse buy. I'd seen them in gun shops for about ten bucks and these were selling for five, so I bought the last one the dealer had for Glock 26/27's. When I got home, I slipped it on my G27 and trimmed it down. It looks and feels pretty good and I suspect the "non-slip" rubber would make for a better grip with muddy or sweaty hands. Is there anything else they are good for? They feel like they might cushion recoil a bit. Anyone have an opinion on that aspect? Anyone actually use this product on their Glocks?

Thanks,
KR

HANDALL

I PURCHASED ONE FOR MY GLOCK 33 AND I REALLY DIDN'T LIKE AFTER AWHILE AS IT WOULD SHIFT SOMEWHAT AFTER RECOIL.
I ENDED UP PUTTING SMALL PIECES OF SKATEBOARD TAPE ON THE GRIP PANELS AND IT WORKS GREAT IN FLORIDA WITH THE HEAT AND SWEATY HANDS. ESPECIALLY USING .357 SIG ROUNDS.

I had one on my G19 that I thought was great then I realized that it made a fat grip even wider. I have taken it off and replaced it with a length of bicycle inner tube that I trimmed to fit. It provides a nonslip grip and is still very thin. I also did not like the finger grooves which did move around during shooting. The bicycle tube covers some of the finger grooves and makes them softer.

I used these on all my Ruger Centerfire Semi autos. I thought they did a good job of increasing the fit and feel of the Rugers grips.

I have one on my SMC-380 (Walther PPK clone) and it does a great job of keeping the gun where it is supposed to be in your hand.

Regards,

I have one on my Steyr but I think the palm swells are a bit much. I hear Pachmayr makes a similar product but without the swells.

I also bought one for my USP. It makes the grip feel "fuller", non-slip and less abrasive.

On the downside, in time the handall slips some with extended use, and makes IWB carry a little more tricky considering the grip being thicker by about ¼". Early on, the finger grooves seem to get in the way of proper gripping, but when adjusted properly helps facilitate a good hold on the gun.

Overall, I still like using it. :)

Had one on my USP when I 1st bought it. Didn't like it...first it made a big grip bigger, in extended shooting sessions, it would slip and the biggest reason I got rid of it, I shot better w/o it ;)

Had one on my G17 for a while. Then it finally stretched enough from use that it started slipping. I took it off and didn't replace it.

Whenever I get a new GLock.....the first thing I do is order a Handall..... I've no clue if it does any thing , but I like the feel of them.............never had one "slip, or shift" and I like the fact that they make the grip a little fatter for me.(very large paws)

I suppose its just whatever trips your trigger......as a side note I do not like the pachmayr version of the grip sleeve.

I put one on my USP 45. While I liked the larger grip, I found it made the gun slippery when my hands got sweaty. In the end, I took it off: a secure grip beats comfort every time.

I have one on my 2d gen GLOCK 17. I like it and keep it on the pistol. The finger grooves work for me as well as the slightly tacky feel. I normally carry this pistol in a police duty rig so I have had no problems with concealment issues. My GLOCK 26 and 36 are finger groove models and I use them as they came out of the box.

I do not know if they help with recoil as the 9mm has none (to me :) ). I also have not had a problem with slipping that would interfere with my shooting. If for some reason this one should stretch to much and become unservicable I probably would not replace it. I like it but not so much that I would put them on all my guns.

So far, so good...

Took my G27 to the range once since I purchased the "HANDALL". I fired several rounds and the thing did not move. I believe the finger "thingies" help to hold the HANDALL in place. I wasn't bothered by the .40's recoil in the first place, but I can see how some people would say that a "cushioning" effect is there. I guess what it all boils down to is I could take it or leave it. I think I'll leave it on for a little while and see what happens. Perhaps I'm going to need a cushioning effect with the way this arthritis is spreading. This stuff is a bummer. I didn't even notice it at the beginning of the summer, now it's a little hard to type sometimes. It's hard to believe this has progressed so quickly.

I prefer the Uncle Mike's slip-on. It's much slimmer and you don't have sweat and strain and cuss to get it on the gun.

My USP 45 didn't fit my hand until I put the Handall on it. I think some of them slip because of oil on the grip. I degreased my USP frame with alcohol before installing it & It hasn't slipped since. Gun Scrubber might work as well.

The factory grip of a Kahr P9 is too thin for my hands, so I put on a Hogue Mini-Handall. Did the trick perfectly!
