I have an HK usp in 45 acp good pistol very reliable. Only had problems with one type of ammo umc 230 grain ball. All others have been 100%. I like my glock 21 better but the hk is a good pistol. Hey quantium can you keep track of this thread too.

My shootin' buddy and I both got USP45's when they first came out. They might not be pretty but they are absolutely fantastic pistols. Besides my P-220 the USP45 is the most reliable pistol I've ever owned. Accurate and durable make it a very nice package. Best, J. Parker

Well, I doubt many of you haven't already heard me brag about my USP .45. HE finish, Factory nitesites, UTL attached, primary role is guarding the home.

It's much more accurate than I am, it has never misfired, jammed, etc, the finish is holding up, but then again, it's never "carried" so why wouldn't it. When I first got it, I was nervous during an informal "tactical" exercise, and accidentally dropped the mag in the dirt. In retrospect, it probably wasn't the gun's fault like I tried to tell everyone ;) .

It's still my favorite pistol, even though I try to sell it every now and again on some 3:00am impulse. But rest assured, It's only to buy a USP .40...

Have an HK USP .45 also, no malfunctions. Approaching 1000 rounds, it has eaten everything from winchester, PMC, ashtrays, CorBon, Triton, Golden Sabers, etc and spit them out right on target. I prefer the HK much to the Glock, but have not had the opportunity to fire it side by side with a Sig.

I'm getting a match grade, threaded, o-ringed tactical barrel with a vortex flash sup. in three days... gonna be a happy camper > ).
Just need to get some .45 Supers and reactive targets for a bit o' good fun.

I don't like HK's very much. Yes, they are generally 100 percent reliable and accurate. But, in my hands the ergonomics feel like a blocky brick. Because of this, I can't get good groups when I shoot them.

That said, I feel their quality is top notch. They are just not for me.

One thing the HKs have in common with the Sigs is that they prefer duty ammunition... meaning cheap reloads, UMC loads, and such. Using powerful factory loads, quality rolled reloads... you'll have better results.

Oooohh! Krept... where can I get one???

Quantum.. have you wrapped your hands around the grip of an HK USP Compact? The .40 & 9mm grip is almost TOO small for my big mitts, so you might like them!

I don't recall trying the compacts. But, I think its the grip shape and not the size that doesn't fit my hands right.

www.ccfa.com has them.

is the pic with the FS on a Tactical. Larry is selling them for @$200 for the bbl and $98 for the suppressor. He might still have the special of $70 for the FS if you buy it with the barrel.

I ended up purchasing a used set (bbl, suppressor,2 extra o-rings and o-ring protector) with 150 rounds through it for $230. We'll see how it works out... Supposedly the setup will lessen recoil and tighten groups some %50 apart from a normal, o-ringed tactical barrel. Should be quite a difference between that and the stock USP setup. Both have a satisfaction guarantee, so you really can't go wrong if you have the extra $ to spend.

Another benefit - I know a fellow that used to build machine parts for Motorola. I am going to give him the Tactical bbl for specs and have him groove my stock USP barrel to accept o-rings as well.

Oh yeah - I think the barrels from CCFA use standard rifling, meaning you should be able to shoot unjacketed bullets with no problems.

I have a USP 9mm Compact I bought used w/ 3 mags (w/ extended floorplates). Since I have small hands, it is just about a perfect fit for me. It is totally reliable with all types of ammunition. I love it!

Yes, the USP's are kinda big but I have big hands. I've never had any type of problem with them. The only thing I don't like about them is the fact that getting the 13rd mag and the threaded barrel are almost impossible (for us little peons.. err civilians).

Had full size USPs in 9, 40 and 45. Only one I had any problems with was the 45, the magazines both split their seams.
Also had a Compact 40, which was an excellent gun, very comfortable to carry and shoot.
And finally a PSP 9mm, which was an outstanding handgun.

I had a USP .40Compact. It had a recoil I couldn't get used to, probably because I'm used to 9mm. I loved the gun but I traded for a Pre-ban MAC-10.

I have a P7M8 that I absolutely love. It's very easy to shoot and very accurate.

I wish HK would come out with a new type of pistol such as a Sub-compact. Anybody hear anything???

Have an HK USP 9mm, bought used. Best bargain I've ever had! 2000+ rounds, plus what ever the guy before put through it. Still can hit a 3x5 card @ 10yds all ten shots rapid fire. Only complaint: total bit*h to clean. Wierd little corners. Maybe that's why HK recommends soaking it once a year.

My everyday carry gun is a USP .45C, just hit the 1000 round mark with zero malfunctions.

Also had a VERY used early USP .40 pre hexagonal rifled barrel, no clue how many rounds through that gun before I had it, but it ticked along without a jam for more than 1200 rounds before I sold it.

I like big pistols but I dumped the USP 40 after finding out about H&K USA's "Screw you for the most $ we can" policy. Only have a P7M8 & 13 & they sure ain't gonna work on them!

H&K Tactical and USP .40

Both are very very reliable. I liked the Tactical so much, I bought a second one. After I realize my idiocy, I sold the second tactical :-x

USP 40 with a couple thousand rounds through it (at least)...it's my only handgun so far. I put 500 rounds of Georgia-Arms 155gr. JHP through it in 2 days last week. Shoots like a dream. Noticeably the lightest-recoiling .40 I've fired, and shoots damn straight.

Only problems I've ever had with it is the occasional stovepipe on the last round of a mag (maybe 4 or 5 failures like this in 2000+ rounds). Any ideas? I think I'm going to replace the mag springs...

I love the thing. I'm going to get it a G29 to keep it company here soon. The HK will get a Wilcox lamp and a simplex-style safe in the house when that all comes to pass.

Best thing I ever did was put a Hogue grip-sleeve on it. The grating...err 'checkering' on the frontstrap can get pretty intense after a couple hundred rounds.

My first and only HK pistol is a USP 45 (full size). It has been 100% reliable to date and is plenty accurate out to 25 yards. I love the single action trigger pull and the double action pull is about average. Seems to be very well made and should last a long time. Is a bit big for CCW purposes but I got a really good deal on it (bought it very slightly used) so I figured "why not?". :)

I would love to get a P7M13 but they are out of my price range and the M8, while a bit cheaper, doesn't fit my hand as well.
