High Gas Prices, has it slowed your hunting hobby?

how much is your petrol and diesel over there lads ?

Not as bad as you're paying, but $3.88 a gallon for regular unleaded and $4.08 for premium.
I just bought a new motorcycle to make the hour long ride to work more comfortable. My back wasn't holding up on the sportbike, so I bought this

It won't affect my big game hunting, but I only made 2 turkey outings this year and only 1 for sage rats, primarily because of fuel costs. It will probably affect my camping somewhat this year as well - at the very least I'll be staying somewhat closer to home.

Your bike is the wrong color. You should have opted for the Mossy Oaks finish. Then you could sneak right up to game with it.:D

Not a bad Idea DONR, but where's the rack to haul out the deer ?

I'm too busy tryingnot to hit them on the way home. I usually see 10-15 every night on my way home:eek::p

That would require getting rid of the nice sounding exhaust and I'm making it louder not quieter:cool:

It is not slowing our plans down. Only change for me and my buddy is we will have to do more planning and manage our ice supply better to keep from having to drive to civilization as often.

Well, most of my local hunting spots haven't moved, so instead of paying $10 in gas to get there, we're spending $20. My kid and I camp out for 3 days here and 3 days there so the cost of hunting hasn't really gone up; just the cost of getting there. My shooting range is 3 miles from here so that isn't worth mentioning. The most expensive change is the $7000 loss of reloading equipment and supplies that the effing burglars took last season while I was in the woods. I'd eat the rise in gas prices if the police could get my stuff back (not likely).

No. At least not yet. My buddy always wants to drive is van & trailer so I'll give him more than half of his gas cost. I think if gas gets to $5 per gallon, I might cut back on keeping the feeder going all year round.

I will still be hunting as usual. I will probably share a ride to the lease more often! :)

I am going to start our feeders a little later this year. Normally we feed through the summer, but with the cost of corn  we are going to wait till a couple of weeks before season starts turn the feeders on.

Since I hunt 1.5 hours from my house on my property and gas being 1.36L I will sacrafice other things to get my hunting in.I do have a 20' trailer on the property to stay in while I hunt so it cost me $70-80 round trip.
