Hi-Point Carbine advice

Thanks to everybody for your help ... as your comments were so glowing, I picked one up this morning (never seen Cabela's gun counter so busy, I had to take a number and wait about half an hour) ... the good part, in addition to getting a new gun (!!) was that I reminded my wife we had talked about getting a small rifle for HD and shooting the tame deer around here for chow in case of disaster, and she took the money out of savings instead of making me pay for it!! I see a range trip in my future ... by the way for the $209 price it included the optional front folding handle and a second factory mag ...

oh, and for you gripers ... geez, I wish I'd gotten a Beretta ...

I bought one years ago and it was seriously the worst gun I've ever owned. Jam once a magazine...if the magazine didn't fall out randomly. Sent it back, came back with the same problems. Never again.

and here come the gun snobs...

i've had my 995TS for about 4 months now, and I have never had any sort of malfunction on it. i've fired close to 2000 rounds, and i have only had one FTE. this is a great little gun and i would consider it to be a great value.

have fun with your new hi-point 995ts!

I'm far from a gun snob. I just think the hi-point is a pos. I had a really bad experience with one and won't trust it. If it works for you, great. Have fun. When it works, its a cheap, easy to use, fun gun. (the problem didn't start until after a few months.)

My Air Force buddy now works for an internat'l security company. The guards carry HiPoint carbines in 40 S & W. Easier to qualify with the carbine than conventional semi-auto pistol and all the guys love it!!
