Anybody familiar with Hi-Point's carbine? Cabela's has them on sale this weekend in 9mm for $210, almost too cheap to pass on .. apc advice ...

Hi-Point carbine

I have had one for a couple of years now. I had so much fun with it that I bought my brother one too. They are just a really fun little gun and mine is really quite accurate with a red dot site on it. Gun is inexpensive, ammo cheap, what is not to like.

Have the 9mm for five years now. It is a best buy in my book. I find it accurate out to 100 yards. No regrets.

Mine has a cheap red dot on it and its a great shooter. I can hit a cigarette pack all day long at 50yrds. I have 3 mags for it and they all work. Its a fun gun and the price is cheaper than what I paid for mine.

I bought a new 995 about 4 yrs ago ($190 NY), liked it so much decided to get a (back then virtually non-existent) new 4095 also...had to search a yr, could only find a used one locally (pd. $200). Both have been reliable and trouble free. Have to admit, I like the shorter / lighter 995 more. Didn't think to much of the new TS stock @ first but I bought a 4595 in January, have only had that out twice so far but it's changed my opinion. I'm impressed, a very nice improvement...go for it.

Yup, to all of the above^ sure is fun.... but you need more than 1 factory mag, you not be unhappy and where in the world can you buy a 9mm pistol for 209.00 you'll want more than one .40, .45....

My son picked up and 9mm and 45 acp model a couple of weeks ago-they shot very accurately and with very little recoil. The only complaint I had is that the "mags" aren't big enough- you just get to having fun and you're out of ammo.

Love my 995 and had my 4095 threaded for suppressor use. Gonna see if I can find a 4595 at the gunshow this weekend.

Best advice, if you're gonna use optics, stick with a red-dot or a light scope. The top cover is not sturdy enough to hang a heavy Wal-Mart 3x9x40 on it. You will lose zero with every shot.

15-rd. ProMag™ 9 mm Hi-Point Carbine Mag
Those don't work. Yes, I have one.

Ditto, i have three of those pieces of garbage.

Love the carbines,my buddy has a 9mm carbine w/ 380 pistol (I have the 9&45 pistols). We are both happy with our HP purchases and I plan on either a 9 or 45 carbine for myself. A side note on those promags,I would'nt be using them as they void warrenty. Just load up on HP mags and have fun!

Not go back to the factory for repairs?
How many people in this thread stated they had to send their Hi-Point carbine back to the factory for repairs?

Nice to know, though, that Berettas never have to go back for repair.

I have the 40 cal version fun gun at a low price, use both a red dot and 3x9 scope, surprisingly accurate at 100 yards, only gripe wish they made 20 round mags.

What does the Beretta do that the Hi-Point doesn't?

Not really much,,,, but it’s like comparing a Corvette to a Vega.
And if your happy with your Vega, good for you.
