Hi, I need suggestion for my first revolver

I don't have a revolver, but I'm sure I will some day. What is this lock your all talking about? Is it like Taurus' system that you put a small tool in and turn to lock up the gun in case you have children? If you don't need it locked you simply don't ever use it then and the gun functions the exact same as an older revolver without one? I can see the arguement for the increase cost on the gun, that sucks, but that is the only downpoint correct?
 
Ruger GP100

I recomend the GP 100 4". S&W has the new internal lock. I've shot Rugers and Smiths. I wouldn't trade my Ruger for anything.
 
go with the gp100. take a feel of a 4" or 6" (3" if they got one.it's my favorite.) to see which one balances well for you. YOU cant go wrong with this firearm.
