I'm not skeptical or anything
but SKUs don't mean anything (you can have a SKU without a product, no problem), photos don't mean anything (anyone can create a photo of anything), and I don't know if being on a dealer's list is significant in any way. It might be very significant, I'm just saying I don't know if it really is. Being announced and shown at a SHOT show is also rather meaningless--doesn't mean it's a production item and I've see it take 2 years for other guns shown at SHOT shows to show up for purchase (Kl-Tec comes to mind).
So, I'm excited that's it's a possibility, and very hopeful--it simply won't be of much importance until I can actually order one. But I AM thrilled at the possibility Glock is introducing another 10mm.
What I was referring to in my first post, not that anyone else might care, is this common aspect of the dust cover area (many Glocks I've seen share this annoying little 'warp', but the G40 photo is the worst I've seen so far):
The amount of flex in this area of the gun bugs me, too, but I can't think of too many cases (if any at all) where it really matters or affects any aspect of firearm performance. It's simply something I find an irritation I wish they'd 'fix'. When I come to mounting an optics mount on the tac rail of my G20, I'm hoping I don't find the rubbery nature of this part of the frame is an issue. If it is, then I'll have a 'logical' reason for buying the G40--as if I need one!
Anyway, back to the photo. What makes me a little bit skeptical is the photo itself--has Glock, in the past, shown its products used in conjunction with another manufacturer's product in a co-marketing scheme like that shown here? Lights, for example? I've not noticed, but it seems a bit odd, and in particular to imply by the photo that Trijicon is preferred, recommended or especially well suited to the new lineup. Seems they would have at least used a sanitized or mockup product. Just curious about that one.
