Henry lever action scope?

I have a Henry lever action .22 lr and I have a really nice 22 lr scope and I was wondering if I could put it on a Henry lever action 22? I bought it from cabelas and made no changes to it yet. It's not the golden boy.

I don't see why not. You just have to get the proper dovetail size. I had a red dot on mine for a while, no issues.

Ok thanks Chris. I might look at getting a red dot sight and put the scope I have on my other .22.

If you buy a red dot sight spend some money on it. I tried to be cheap and went with a truglow and it seemed like it was only good for shooting cans. Shooting a quarter would have been hard.

For levers I like open sights. You might like skinner sights better.

I'm not sure how much you will have to pay to get good results but the $30 I paid didn't get there. The one I had used a 5 moa dot and said paralax free at 30 yards. 5moa at 100 yards is 5 inches so the dot would take up 1.25 inches at 25 yards. On a shotgun I think that's acceptable but on a rifle no. I've seen guys spend up to $600 for them and I'm sure one of them can help you. I only bought one and i'm done with them.

A skinner peep sight to me would be better. If your rifle will take one.

If you want the most accuracy, use a scope

If you want quick shots at objects larger than squirrels, use a Red Dot with the smallest dot you can find

I would look for a used Burris mini four power compact scope. It would sit fine on that Henry 22lr. I put one on a Marlin 27-S .25-20, anything else would have been too big for the gun. It is a shame they don't make compact scopes anymore.

Skinner is a PITA to adjust and you may need two separate posts if going to over 100 yards. Had one on an H001T. You will also need a new front sight since the Skinner rear sits high on the receiver.

Before you go nuts, try a Marbles rear ghost ring. It might suffice and is very inexpensive.

OR go with a scope. The worst you may need in extra equipment is a hammer extension.

Was gifted a new Henry .22lr lever recently, and a hoot to shoot, but I don't shoot it well with the basic irons. And I'm nearly to the point where a peep is not much better.

Leupold makes a very nice 4x28mm compact rimfire scope which would seem ideal and is likely in the future for my Henry.

I used to boldly proclaim,, in print no less, "no scopes on lever carbines". About five years is all it took for that to change as I passed 50 yrs.

I still don't like white line spacers.

Been using a Leupold VX2 2x7x28mm on another rifle this past week.
Very nice rimfire glass.

Not cheap.
Worth the money.
