Help With a Blackhawk

I've often wondered what would happen if I stuffed a grain of bullseye or trail boss behind a .36 lead ball, and shot it out of the 9mm cylinder.

So what is the facination with shooting the 9mm from a revolver? If you want a low power economical load shoot the .38's. As far as the self indexing once you get a feel for the gun it is not necessary and you won't even notice it. I have learned to index mine by feel and only rarely miss a chamber. Still a fine shooter regardless.

If one was really inclined I've wondered if getting set up to use a heel base bullet in the 9mm case wouldn't solve the accuracy problem. Of course you'd need a custom mold and the cartridges wouldn't work in a standard 9mm.

Having done that with 38special cases (and Bullseye), I can tell you it's a hoot. From a 2" S&W 36, it's like having a capgun. No need for hearing protection. You can see the ball fly through the air.

If I lived where I could shoot in the backyard, I'd load these things by the thousands.
