The top rounds in the magazine are held in alignment by the lips and supported by the round underneath but the last round is supported from below by the follower,the nub causes it to point several degrees up and to loose full follower
support in addition to that as the round is being loaded the case extraction groove engages it and the rim causes the round to jump as it continues the loading cycle.If the case has a cannelure then it fits over the nub,the round has full follower support and is held from slipping out on
recoil.Today's .45 AUTO ammunition does not have a case cannelure so the
follower nub does not function as intended.
.Look at your magazine follower. Does it have a "tit" in it sticking up? If it doesn't, get a magazine or a follower that does
