Sigma range report

They had the sigma marked 359 which is average around here. Gyns typically run 10-15% higher around here. Glocks run 525-550 new. I probably could have waited around and got about 40-50 more on a private sell but I'm cool with the deal I got and I got another pistol for carry or fun range time. Took the Sigma to the range today between rain showers and was quite impressed with it. Had enough time to shoot 30 rounds thru it and 30 thru my P226. At 25 yds using CCI blazer i was grouping grapefruit size pattern. Had heard horror stories on the trigger and that had kept me from trying a sigma until now. To be quite honest I found the trigger rather crisp and more than tollerable. Granted it isnt as easy pull as a glock or XD but then again it is dao. Was no more stiff than my p226 in da and easier of a pull than my lcp. I guess it goes to show that every gun is different regardless of maker. Ill still stick with my XD9 sub for ccw(when I get the slide back from Springfield for refinishing as it is a pre '06 model) but I'd have no quams with carrying the sigma. Out of the 30 rounds fired (15 from each mag) had no issues. And I know that 30 rounds isnt really a test but the rain was coming in quick.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. The Sigma gets a bum wrap for being crap. It's no amazing pistol but it is reliable (the mechanics to Glock are close enough they had to pat royalties) and that is what matters. IMHO if it said Taurus or something other than S&W it would be considered the company's flagship semiauto. But since it is an S&W it has to compete for rank with the M&P, SW99 and their hammer fired semi autos.

Regarding the M&P 15-22 not feeding well, I don't know. Some of the early models were recalled and fixed. The owners were given an extra mag for their trouble. S&W continues to be one of my favorite gun companies.
