Help me date this 28-2 PLEASE!!!!

Hi, Canis:
Seems that this thread is getting off track. If you like your 28-2 half as much as I like mine, you'll be a happy camper. Sure, it doesn't have the finish of my best looking pistol, a High Standard Supermatic Citation, but it's got just as sweet a trigger and is even more accurate. There's enough horsepower if I want it, and light .38 Special loads don't intimidate my 12 year old Firearm Safety sudents. Enjoy it.

Bye
Jack

SaxonPig - Your last statement illustrated the point everyone else is trying to make. You aren't comparing a Mercedes to a Chevy -you are comparing a Mercedes to a Mercedes ... The 27 and 28 are the same gun and are made to the EXACT same quality standards, only one has a different (less costly) finish. But that was by design and is not a "Quality" issue. It is less expensive for sure, and perhaps less appealing to some, but is not defective in any way.... which would be a quality issue. You even admit that one sells for less on the used market -which is explained by the difference in finishes. If the finish is worth the extra hundred to you that's fine but to some it doesn't matter. They may even prefer the unique finish that is unlike other S&W's.
