Heads up -- New VPC Study, Vest Buster: The .500 Smith & Wesson Magnum

Lets try this again:

how many were actually from a .44 Magnum
2 officers killed with a .44

Anyone else wondering why just S&W? There are plenty of other rounds/manufacturers producing the same result
34 killed with 9mm, which is 7 more than their number given all three of the mentioned in the same time period. Maybe we should go after Glock?

How many of those 27 were due to penetrated vests?
13, but I only counted 16 deaths from a .357, .40 or .44 anyway

approximatley 1in 10 {from my own research} leo's are shot with their own gun
12 killed by their own weapons out of 146 total (by my count, and including rifles), so ~ 1 in 12. Close enough to 1 in 10 for me. 1 out of the 12 total killed was with a .357, 3 with a .40

Can anybody tell me how much a 7.62x25mm costs on the street and what it does to normal pistol-caliber vests
1 officer killed from 1993 to 2002 with it, it was while wearing a vest

Criminals use what is stolen.
Amen. If only everyone understood...

By the way, report is here:

I recommend it. It is purely numbers, so there are no arguments or feelings to obstruct the facts. Also, it breaks down killings into dozens of different ways.

What's disturbing about the VPC release is the number of lies published-per-paragraph.

It is more and more clear that the Left cannot achieve their objectives with the truth--so they just lie and hope nobody catches them.

That's a far cry from the good old 1950's, when one debated policy and facts were a given...

I know that conservatives like myself too often make comparisons to communists, but this really reminds me of the exasperating Stalinist propaganda you used to read in "the Nation." At first you think that they must be crazy--but then you realize that they are "big lie" theory propagandists who are fully aware of what they are doing. I can't stand them.

One thing that pops into my mind is what study was it that proves it will penetrate a vest??? I have seen with my own eyes a point blank IIIA vest stop a 45 70 round. Too much frontal area to give good penetration. And I just love the "concealable" shoulder holster idea...Maybe I could get one for off duty carry. :D Probably wouldnt work though, I don't want to have back surgery that bad.
