Have you recently purchase a weapon in case the laws change overnight?

My wife and I came to Massachusetts with a five year plan to buy the house, fix it up and sell and move back to Colorado.

November 99 was the two year anniversary and we are accelerating the fixes, eliminating some others and the house should be on the market by June/July. I hated coming here in the first place but my wife was fine with it. Since then, she is ready to flee at a moment's notice.

Mass of two s--ts seems to have that effect on people.

Gun Control: The proposition that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own panty hose, is more acceptable than allowing that same woman to defend herself with a firearm.

I don't buy it. 83,000,000 "licensed" gun owners? What constitutes a licensed gun owner?

If this were true, I'd think I would know some of them. Nearly everyone I know owns guns, I think the only one who has a license is my mom.

Thanks for the correction. That should be "lawful gun owners." Since everyone in the PRM (including onwners of those deadly Daisy BB-guns) must be licensed, I forget that most of the rest of the country has no such moronic laws.

I started off with just one gun 2 yrs ago for home defense, got into guns as technically interesting machines with entertainment value (i.e. shooting is fun), got politicized in the process.

VA is still a pretty reasonable state, except for the silly-assed 1 handgun/month law (to protect the the morons in DC from their jive selves), and the more silly-assed 3 day wait here in Fairfax County (so's I can 'cool down' if I have an urge to shoot someone in a caliber I don't already own-). There's still a good selection of all kinds of stuff in the gun shops, no 'approved gun lists' and crap like in MD. This isn't a real burden pragmatically(beyond the fact that it's just plain wrong), as my budget doesn't allow me to buy a bunch of guns at once anyway, and the dealer will 'lay-away' stuff with a small deposit. So far, so good.

However, we did buy some property to build on in southern MD, walking distance from the marina where we keep our boat, where we hope to retire some time not too far in the future (and having second thoughts at that), but given the climate in MD, yes, I'm accelerating my purchases to make sure I have lots fo good toys before 2003 (when the mandatory locks must be on anything purchased there). Sorry for the long answer, every one have a nice weekend. M2

Steve Clark Custom is building a 1911 from Rock River Arms slide and frame for me. I would love to go into a buying frenzy but due to buying 7 guns this year, I'll have to wait until my next bi-weekly check to buy another piece of art :D
