Have ya'll read the Jan 01 Field and Stream !?

Most of us that post here are hard case "gun nuts" and I include myself. I have become a one issue voter,I vote for the candidate the I feel will best protect my 2nd amendment rights, whether or not they are Rep. or Dem. eventho I am a registered Republican.

Most gun owners are not hard case and are more concerned with other issues. We need to convert as many of these marginal people as possible to our cause. How many hunters here in PA sat out the last election or voted for Gore because they are union I don't know, but there were enough to let the soccer moms and inner-city folks(Philly) give the state to Gore. This is only going to become worse as the country becomes more urban.

Maybe we should start a new thread on what our top ten list is when trying to decide what politicians to support.

1. RKBA
2. lower taxes so we can buy ourselves more guns.
3. Increased focus on making our military a better one.
4. lower taxes so we can buy our wives more guns.
5. improve public schools by getting the feds out for the most part.
6. repeal federal laws for gun control.
7. Instead of block granting money back to the states, JUST DON'T HAVE THE STATES SEND THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
8. lower taxes so we can buy our kids more guns.
9. More judges who adhere to the constitution.
10.teach the constitution and Bill of Rights in public schools.

USAFNoDak:

Your name could be WhyNotMinot. A friend of mine was there in the early/mid seventies. My pa was from western ND. His folks homesteaded there.

Everyone:

Try not to go the route of 'I'm more pro-gun' than the other guy. We need to build on our successes and learn by our failures, or we're doomed. We need as many allies that we can get, even if they don't agree with us 100%. This way, we won't lose seats in the House and Senate. We won't lose the house on Pennsylvania Ave, and we'll be able to shoot in peace without having to write letters every week.

Rest assured that no division exists among those that don't want to face the truth and recognize what is right and let us own guns as we choose. They're organized, well financed, and laughing about their Senate victories in this past election. They're also planning for next week and the week after. They don't dwell on the fact that some amongst them aren't working for total confiscation and actually support ownership of certain guns. They use their assets as they can for their demented cause.

Let's move on. Let's not back down. Let's become a more active, vocal force. Let's also make use of every positive asset that we can, however small. If we do this, the truth will prevail.

WhyNotMinot? Freezin's the Reason! However, I was at the Forks, Grand Forks. I actually enjoyed it, but I am from Mn., so it wasn't too much different than what I was already used to.

I agree that we do need to hang together like a bunch of chads. I never try to belittle fellow gun owners who don't believe as stridently as I do. I try to give them enough interesting and sometimes anecdotal info. for them to get the impetus to go find out for themselves. This is much more effective than me telling them how I think they should think. Just my $.02.
