not really, I never liked the mosin before so I never felt the need for detailed pics, perhaps tomorrow I'll take some pics outside where I have good light.

Wow that's pretty neat, tahuna. Bullpup style and everything.

Wait a second... I'm pretty sure I saw that gun on RoboCop....

I didn't say I didn't like them in general... just that one. it fell way short of expectations and in the end it was better in it's original state. this config improves in some areas, creates more issues in others. overall it's a good step up from bubba'd sporter but not something that I would buy again.

the biggest gripe I have with it is that the trapdoor cheek piece flops around so it's not exactly stealthy. I'm thinking about D&T the hinge and body and fashioning a spring to hold it shut when not in use.

that would be an awsome project to keep tabs on.

i know a few users with that similar issue. might give them some inspiration?

My 1942 Mosin, a bit beat up when i got it.I know its blasphamy to some but i refinished it and i think it looks pretty good.

Nice M38 Unspoken, I need to pick one of those up eventually to go with my M44. I also see its sitting in a wooden bed... what classic truck is it riding in?

@Mossy500, looks like you did do a good job on it. I like it

@Unspoken, the m38 looks very red. It looks sweet. Just a different red stain? Or is it just the lighting?

Judging by the bed strips and wheel wells, my guess is a 67-72 Chevy/GMC pickup. :D

Nathan knows his classics! That's a '69 Custom10.
The M38 really is that stunningly deep mahogany red, I've never seen one quite like it. It's also a chopped down 91/30 (no, it's not a 91/59). When you disassemble the stock, on the underside of the receiver, you can see the original serial number of the donor 91/30. Very handy and fun little carbine.

This is a MN that a friend gave to me a few years ago. It has a 1943 date on the barrel along with the 'hammer and sickle' commie stamp. It is arsenal refinished as new with a perfect bore. I think it is a M38- I'm not very familiar with the MN variants.
