have a mosin? post it !

You asked for it. Natalia is a 1942 izzy, came with an ATI stock that was poorly fitted. Bedded the action, floated the barrel after shortening to 24" and recrowned, AR pistol grip, modified a scope mount (el cheapo scope) and made a bolt handle. MOA shooter if I do my part.

Completely cleaned, messed with the bolt..... Trust me,It will not fire. My Mosin will not fire.... I was told I need a new bolt or something like that. Would love to fire this rifle.............

Can you post some pics with the bolt in and out of the gun? It would help us to help you, parts are easily found but it depends on what you want to do. Mime didn't work rift either and ya almost needed to small it with a 2x4 to open it. Smooth as butter now.

Thanks srtrolly,I'll post some pics when I get home later today :) . I'd like to keep er' original. I hear these rifles make a good boom! :D

Numrich is out of stock on bolt assemblies for that rifle right now but I'm sure they'll get more in before too long. However a new bolt will cost around $65 so I'm not sure it'll be worth it to you to replace it if that is what it needs. If the rest of the rifle is in good shape then it might be worth it since the price on Mosins has been steadily going up.

This is how the Russian's would have outfitted the Mosin today... :D

i like how we are have the historical ones and the modified ones so we can see a variance in these rifles.

@ sks try buymilsurp.com i believe they sell bolts and other parts you may need to get that rifle going

im very happy with the turnout of people posting, im hoping to see more variety and more mosins!:D

Just finished cutting this one, still needs the bolt inletted, the recoil pad installed and urethane on the stock:

Here's my 1942 Izzy with a Brasstacker see-through scout mount and an NcStar 2-7 pistol scope.

I can't seem to get the damn scope zeroed and will probably have to shell out the cash for a better one in the future. In the meantime, the mount is solid and being see-through i can use the iron sights, which I'm pretty accurate with at this point.

the illuminated one works for me, but remember its fixed parallax and thus at different viewing angels the zero will have moved

nice mosins

@ TEMPEST : i like how you made it bare metal, looks very nice, hows the shooting with it is it slick or same?

@LARRY: what do you mean? it looks good? does it not fire?

well, i need to shoot mine and zero it now that i have a scout scope on it,

Duzell,

The barrel was sanded and polished on a wool wheel. I just keep it oiled. Been that way for 2 years and no rust.

I spent A LOT of time tweaking that rifle. I bedded the stock, added pillar beds, little upward pressure on the barrel like the Finns did and Timney trigger at 1.5 lbs. It was a fun project and is one of my favorite rifles to shoot. It's not like my .308 target rifle or anything but it often shoots sub 1" 5 round groups at 100 and has been just over 1 MOA out to 400 yards. Did that only once and on a bad day. I'm hoping to improve on that next time.
