I'd trust Britain more than the UAE -- our allies over in Dubai aren't exactly "friends" by any means. They may not be on a level with Saudi Arabia, but they're still not the cleanest of allies. Their gov't helped ship Pakistani nuclear technology over to Iran, Libya, and North Korea. According to the UN, the UAE gov't's had a place in the nuclear black market (though to their credit, they've lessened their role recently with the UN's help).
UAE's banks also handled a large percentage of the money involved in 9/11... And though I doubt any of the banks realised what they were doing untill it was too late, they weren't exactly helpful when we wanted to track Bin Laden's accounts afterward (according to the US Treasury Department, that is).
Now... Another thing... Even though there were "investigations" made by our new CARC friends, they have yet to say anything of what those "investigations" entailed. They just exist. And they just say that it's safe... We should trust them though, afterall, the investigations we know near nothing about are obviously infalliable. Right? *Sarcasm.*
Anyways... That's just what I think of this whole thing. The UAE (primarily Dubai) helps the little guy get the nukes, banks for terror, doesn't help us -- their allied buddies -- in tracking down the folks who fly planes into our buildings, and then we're supposed to let them take over a company overseeing our ports without blinking, all because they're our allies on paper and they gave us a flimsy promise that they won't replace too much of the management in place with their own folks...
