Has or is politics dividing this nation? Long post.

I use the word Liberal because its the leftwing LIBERALS that started the campaign of hate speech and hate buzz words to describe any and all conservatives, if they can dish it out they should expect to get it in return!! Look at how the left demonized Ashcroft because he had a bible on his desk, what a horrible man, he believes in god, OOPS I said another bad leftwing word GOD Yikes what was I thinking!!!!!!! tell the truth about the left and they have to call you names and demonize you, yet this seems to be their only battle plan, a true debate of ideas, ideology and a calm conversation is out of the question. I have personally tried to talk to more than one Liberal and when you start to win points in the converstion out comes the name calling and the voice raises and thats when I just say CYA!
I only see leftwing foaming at the mouth lunatics in the news protesting anything they dont agree with and if you dont conform to their believes they call you names spit on you and demonize you. Just ask our troops who have served in Iraq that have had leftwingers spit on them and call them murderers while these Americans were in public with their family. I dont see the right doing these disgusting things but maybe we should start by going after Sheehan and her group and spit on them. During the last election there was a self admitted Liberal at my sister inlaws that had pictures of George and Laura Bush, he had a book of matches and was trying to get kids ages 8-16 to burn the pictures. The things he was saying to these kids was less than apropriate and threatening. I was not happy when I went to pickup my grandson at her house and found what was going on, I told him I had a mind to place a call to the secret service.
There are some very real differences between the parties and yet in some ways they are very similiar. The left believes in control of the citizens by removing rights instead of individual responsibility and real sentencing for criminals. The left gravitates toward socialism and in the schools indoctrination. Anyone who has an open mind can see how most colleges are so far left they are off the map. I have a niece and nephew who were conservative that went to college, after 4 years you should hear the leftwing lies and propaganda coming from their mouth and minds. They think Michael Moore is the greatest American of all time! The left doesn't believe in individualism, either you conform to their belief or you are an infidel!
Look at what the left did to Newt and trent Lott, the right should ahve done the same to Klu Klux klansman Robert Byrd. what he did was 20 times worse than anything Lott said or did. The left has brought dirty politics to a whole new level! If the left keeps going this country will be as divided as the people of Iraq!!
I wasn't always like this I didn't use the word LIBERAL or get uptight over politics, but after spending 20+ years serving America, having 3 sons serve America and one in Iraq 4 times going on 5 I am sick and tired of the Sheehans endangering our troops serving and spreading lies. I have seen many leftwing web sights claiming Bush and the military planned 9/11 and used explosives to bring down the towers and the pilots were CIA brainwashed and the Pentagon attack was staged. THESE ARE SICK PEOPLE!!
And by the way, some of my letters sent to the paper are pertaining to one of my conservative senators who I feel has sold out his constituents and has become a moderate in his voting.

Careful there, Baba, if you look too closely at which states provide the most federal taxes as to those who take the most you may find your line of thinking shattered...
Those industrial, "blue" states tend to be the great providers to the "red" states which receive the most...
A worthless statistic. Some of these red states, such as Montana, have a lotta highway to pay for because of the size of the states, with a small population. In Montana’s case, they also have big National Parks to maintain.
What is the breakdown by red and blue county ?
And the real issue isn’t red and blue states, it’s red and blue cultures.
My guess is that some of these hotbeds of blue tax-payers are cities that grew on the backs, vision, and initiative of red-value types a hundred years ago. Then after the city grew large and prospered, it attracted blue-value ne’er-do-wells who flocked in for handouts, and then the city’s population was predominantly blue. Now you have blue states crowing about how they’re feeding the red states, whereas in reality it is still the red culture feeding everybody. Just my guess.

Rules: NO ad hominem attacks. Period. The use of the words "liberal" or "right winger" or "leftist" etc, while not themselves a slur, are USED as slurs in order to attack the other party. So, if you're going to discuss politics (or anything else for that matter) you should not use ad hominem methods while doing it. If, during a discussion, the other side does so, point out their tactlessness and return to the issues. If they persist, THEN walk away as they don't want to discuss issues, they want to insult someone so they can claim they were victimized by those "viscous" (insert slur here).
To engage them using their own tactics is just like that argument I mentioned above.
I think it can come down to just politics because no matter who is in office it seems like the tax load gets worse.
When some of the federal taxes were lifted I figured my state would increase their taxes and lessen the services they provide, unfortunately I was right.
I live in a rural red county that is in a red state and I want to move. I am looking for even more laid back places with a lighter tax load and that is not too hard to find for right now.
With all the groups saying this person is better than that person and that is who you should vote for, I see none that are truly solving problems. I just see a sea of politicians that are not truly representing the average hard working person who pays more than their fair share in taxes.
Overall I am waiting for the day that people realize that there are only so many people who are not in some way working for the government. It is those folks whose taxes support the government and its workers, and at some point this iceberg will flip.
Personally I think it flipped and the "accounting" people and debt load people just are working well at hiding it.

I use the term Liberal as this is how most of them PROUDLY describe or address theirself as. Its kind of like the double standard of the RAP Music, its OK for them to use the N word all the time but if a non black uses it they are a racist!
Also if ones choses to call me a right winger or conservative I will proudly accept that label I think too much political correctness will be the death of us yet. You cant tell the truth about someone or something because it isnt politically correct. I am not advocating racial slurs or TRUE hate speech, but its gotten rediculous and is being used as a double standard by way too many especially the left. They use it as a tool to try to silence people that don't agree with them.
Just look at the viscious attack made by George Clooney on Charlton Heston, where was the attack on his hate speech by the leftwing media, we all know what would have happened had a conservative made a remark like that about a Liberal. We would have had every talk show, CNN, ABC, CBS on and on having days of attack on the hateful evil conservative. Don't believe me just ask Trent Lott or Newt Gingrich! I am not ashamed of being called or of being a right winger or conservative, if a Liberal feels its ashamed or slurred by being called a Liberal then they must see shame or wrong in that political or lifestyle choice. I guess its like what jeff Foxworthy says about being a Redneck, stand up, be proud of what you are, oops there I go again, redneck! Thats why I am a N.H.
