Has anyone used this S&B ammo, made in Czech Republic. I'm having problems finding 45ACP. Seems to be that many shops have S&B, but not much american ammo. Is this S&B ammo any good

Have used S&B many times....
No problems with it, EXCEPT---the red "sealer" they put on the primer tends to get all over the firing pin area in the chamber.
Cleans off all right, just kinda' messy.:barf:
I wouldn't want to let my pistols set around with that stuff in there very long after firing though, always clean them same day I shoot them.
IMHO

My Two Cents.

I have used S&B 9mm brass and steel, 38 and 357, 40S&W, 8x57, 7.62x39, and 303BRIT.
All with no problems.

S&B is good, hot, trustworthy ammo

I've been shooting S&B ammo for a while now. I haven't had any problems from the primer sealer that was mentioned earlier. I shoot S&B 9mm & .38 Special.
Neve had a miss. It is definetly hotter than the Winchester equivalent. It has a noticably stronger kick even in the smaller 9mm. I would say it feels closer to what we call a +p+ load. It is also clean burning powder.
We can't get much .38 Special ammo up here, so I traded 1 to 1, 150 rounds of Pro Load brand .357, for 150 rounds of S&B .38 Special. I feel it was a fiar trade considering the availability of some ammo calibers here.

Good stuff

S&B is some good stuff.

I was cleaning out my garage a while back and ran into some cost comparision from 2003-4. S&B 45ACP was $165 for a case (that's $8.25 a box). I was buying them cases at a time.

Wish I had saved some. Well, truth be told I would of shot it by now anyways.

How times have changed.

I like it and prefer it. Perhaps because I started with a CZ and wanted to use CZ ammo. Well, it works great in pistols made in IT, DL, OS, US...

I've used some before without issue.

As mentioned, I've read it's a little hotter than some of the other brands on the market.

In rough numbers.

S&B 230g FMJ runs about 370 ft. lbs. (5" barrel) at the muzzle. For comparison, WWB 230g FMJ runs about 345 ft. lbs., which is what most standard .45ACP FMJ runs.

American Eagle and Fiocchi 230g FMJ also run hot similar to S&B.

I've shot a lot of 9mm and .38/.357 as well as some .45 acp ammo from S&B with great results. Never a single problem.
