Has anyone tried AOL 6 ?

Try THREE (3) Seconds in the microwave for AOL 6.0 CDs. Makes a nice fireworks show.

It hasn't damaged my microwave, but do this at your own risk.

What ISP do you guys recommend?[/quote]

I've had very good luck with Earthlink. Frontiernet sucked.

None of the nationwide ISPs have access numbers in my area, I can't get DSL or cable, and the local ISPs suck. My only choice is AOL. Cost is only $19.95 for unlimited time, equal to or better than probably anybody else out there. Tons of gun websites hosted by AOL. I'd probably switch if it was feasible, but it's not.

What's available as far as browsers are concerned? I don't like Microsoft (but I don't know their RKBA stance). I've used Netscape for so long, but I know AOL has bought it. Any other alternatives?

ArmySon,

I have seen that thread before and I'm still not convinced. All large corporations give money to political candidates, usually to both sides. I bet if someone dug deep enough that they could find that AOL had contributed to some Republicans as well. Consider the source of that thread too. It was posted by someone who wants you to use his ISP service! I know AOL is not a good friend of gun owners, but I don't think that they are the demons that everyone is portraying them to be. The only legitimate beef against them is that they don't allow firearm SALES over their websites. There are hundreds of progun websites on AOL right now.

Try this:
www.opera.com/

I tried it, but was unimpressed. I did catch the disk on the rise, and blew it into three or four pieces. But it just does not compare to the older 3 1/2 inch disks, which took much more skill to hit, and shattered into more pieces.

Stay away from Stinking AOL Just get an ISP where you can get a local dialup and use Explorer 5.5 and outlook express for e-mail it's time to really web surf

What coolray said !

And they should call it AOL SUX !
