Has Anyone Here NEVER Filled Out a Form 4473?

A few years back I needed some cash, so I sold 3 rifles I had acquired through private purchases. I thought at the time it was better to unload the guns that could not be traced back to me. Now I realize what a moron I was for doing that. Sold a Colt Target Sporter, a Polytech M14, and a Bulgarian AK47 - all pre-ban guns. Should have sold the car instead - WHAT WAS I THINKING!?

I would have to say that with NIC's and other (state type) background checks, your records are NEVER entirely deleted.

Most of you in IT would know this. Are'nt system/tape backups performed - nightly, weekly.

So the records are ALWAYS available if someone cares to sift through the backup tapes.

RobertR, What Brett and I are talking about resides on more than back up tapes! I would figure several large servers with internal backup as well as the archive functions you mention.I can remember when you needed to fill out a 4473 for 22RF ammo "because it could be used in a pistol" not long after one of our leaders was killed with a rifle back in the 60's. These hardware stores seldom do trade in the firearms business anymore and I wonder what happened to those records. :( :(

I plead the Fifth!!

I refuse to answer that question, your Honor. On the grounds that the Feds will incinerate me.

Donny, You can't plead a thing because you have Signed The Papers!!! Only these guys will not send you to the work camps yet as they can pull a good precentage of your paycheck without having to even give you water to drink!
