Has ammo availability made you change your EDC?

In regards to:

A) the shortages of ammo:(
B) our country's uncertainty at the moment::confused:
C) my advancing age:eek:

I made a decision to simplify my life and decided to standardize my ammo supply and handguns to only .45ACP, by liquidating my small collection of other caliber guns.

This means that I will get rid of the guns that I no longer have a need for (and hardly shoot), and enjoy owning and shooting just a couple of nice handguns.

It works for me.:)

No, but I have thought seriously about buying a 40cal pistol because every time I go to WalMart that is all they have available.

K.I.S.S.

That's the way I think.

I have .355s, and .357s. for SD. Althought I still have my 7.62x25s for fun:D

Nope, not one bit.

My EDC is my Glock 20SF (10mm)...

I reload/handload all my practice rounds for about $.10-$.15 depending on what type of bullet I choose...

I carry DoubleTap ammo exclusively for SD/HD.
- 165gr Speer GDHP for town carry
- 200gr WFNGC for woods carry

I'm pretty sure I'll only buy handguns chambered in calibers that Mike sells (which, BTW doesn't really limit any options). I love his ammo. It's super-reliable and competitively priced.

I'm thinking on changing my EDC due to low supplies of 45acp. If I do, my choice will be 9mm. Either P99, 92FS or my USP9mm. Now if I could find a 9mm 1911, I'd be set.

i just don't shoot the SD ammo I have. I reload for a reason. keep them separate, and use only when you have to. no reason to shoot SD ammo...

No, and primarily because I reload / and plan my components orders out so I have what I need..... but

I have a number of 1911's - my carry gun is a 5" in .45acp / and my primary practice gun is a 5" in 9mm .... I shoot 4 to 6 boxes of 9mm a week / maybe 1 box of .45 acp .....and that works for me. But I don't shoot my carry ammo at all .... Hydra Shok or Golden Sabre is way too expensive to shoot weekly..... and there is no reason to do that in my opinion.

No. I have only changed my EDC once, and that was due to questions of the effectiveness of the round, compounded with concerns about the reliability of the sidearm itself. That what replaced the old one was thinner and lighter was a bonus. And when I did the change there was no real issue with ammo availability. Granted, that round has since become scarce, but it wasn't back then.

Honestly, I don't let ammo availability cloud my decision. I reload.

Hasn't affected my carry options in the least. I still have 45 of the 50 rounds of Remington 158gr +P LSWCHP I bought 10 or so years ago. It's not like the stuff goes bad or anything.
