Has a movie ever made you want to buy a certain firearm?

Oh, yes. As a youngster I swore I was gonna get myself an M1928 A-1 Tommy gun, After I saw Nick Nolte use one in the late '80s movie "Farewell to the King". That never happened. A more realistic movie gun goal is a Mauser broomhandle C-96. It took a few years to realize That was the gun used by Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood in their best movies (IMHO).

Die Hard made me want an AUG. Got one, don't shoot it much, may sell it. It's not a bad rifle, just a slightly goofy purchase. I would enjoy an A1-style AR more, probably. Plenty of 80s action-movie awesomeness, in a platform I already enjoy.

Miller's Crossing made me want a Webley Mk-VI. Opportunity and funds have yet to cross paths... So far.

The Matrix: Desert Eagle 50AE
Appaloosa: 8GA shotgun with octagonal barrel
Any WWII movie: a M1 Garand
Wanted: any gun whose bullet can be curved
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: the Point-of-view gun

Snatch: "Desert Eagle point 5-0"
Matrix: the character Mouse had a tommy gun w/ a hollowed out see-thru drum
Romeo & Juliet: Mercutio had a semi auto where you could see the rounds thru the handle

Book of Eli - HK45
Sudden Impact- 300 automag( "when used properly it will remove the fingerprints" )
More Clint- Model 29

I bought a Henry AR-7 after seeing one of the Bond movies (i don't remember which one now), and I still want a Spencer carbine after seeing one in Unforgiven.

I can't recall for the life of me what movie I saw this in with the countless documentaries I've seen over the years...but, a Sturmgewehr 44, aka STG 44. Would be pretty cool to have the first real assault rifle in history. I've always been a fan of German weaponry, I'm as American as can be though. I could never own "Hitlers buzz saw" because of the devastation it caused on D-day, just makes me sad honestly.

An MP-40 would be kinda slick too, hell...even a real Grease gun would be fun

No, not really.

I guess all the movie portrayals together might influence my desire to have Thompson SMG, but it could also just be an awesome flame thrower of a gun.

All the old James Bond movies made me want to buy a Walther PPK. I never did but bought a Bersa Thunder .380, a PPK wannabe. :)

After watching "Point Break" for the 11th million time I'd still like a stainless steel Charter Arms Undercover to go with my SIG P-226. :D

2003 Monte Walsh

The 1887 Winchester lever action shotgun carried by Shorty caught my attention. So I bought a reproduction at a gun show a while back. 12 guage lever action is a blast to shoot. And what a quail gun! I actually recieved a few smirks and laughs at it's first Quail hunt, that is untill I bagged out before the other guys did. Quick swing and levels off easy. Quail are fast birds, but this shotgun did just fine.

I think it was the little guy in the REAL old gangster movies with the squinty eyes that always said,"yea, seeeee."

Edit-the guys name was Edward G.Robinson-"yea.seeeeeee.":D

Thompson submachine gun with the round magazine.

I forget all the nicknames they had for them but they were all funny.

What a machine gun.

Never-ever equaled in just movie badaxxed-ness. :D

Someday the stars will align and Sharps will fall into my lap at the right time for the right price. Quigley Down Under is a great Sharps movie but Legends of the Fall also has a great scene of a father exacting retribution with a '74 pattern Sharps from a fair distance.

My friend was over this weekend and he says that Quigly Down Under made him want to buy a 45/70. I asked why and he says its what he used in the movie. It took me a long time to get him to grasp that it was not a 45/70. Busted his bubble :)

I bought a S&W Performance Center 627 after watching Sultan Sea and seeing the 327 in it. I wanted a little more barrel than the one Val had in the movie.

I've always wanted an H&K MP5. Was able to shoot them as part of our qualifications but they are not permitted to be sold to indiviuals.

Raiders of The Lost Ark

...don't know what it was, but the revolver that he traveled with sure came in handy! My version of that is a .45 Ruger Redhawk.
